lol, I usually check for spammers as the forum isn't too active between 10pm and 7am CT.

Is it a bad thing if I find this spam-catching to be a competition?

No. I wouldn't and think it makes it a little more fun. either way the actual forum users win. At least in my book.

You know, I've always wondered....
Why do they always pick out the most random names?
Do they think we have to type their name into a console to ban them or something?
I think they just run their fingers across the keyboard. I wonder if we could just pick them out before they get a chance to post since 99% of the one that look like spammers are spammers.

Would it be possible to make it a requirement to have their first post in the Intros thread?

I personally think it is the same guy/group, spamming us as a sick form of entertainment.
Or it's just the automated spamfarm that exists, that figured out a backdoor to the registration process.
Not sure how the forum is setup, but there have been some I was admin of and you could have some hidden topics hidden unless you were in a certain member group.
Not sure if there is a way to hide everything but the intro thread or something of the sort until you have a certain post count.

If we did that, though, you would have to be a member, and a member with a few posts at that, to see any of the actual content. And IDK about anyone else, but forums like that always piss me off...quick way to kill a forum, imo. Besides, even that aside, it would just generate a lot of a different kind of spam with people joining and posting the minimum number of posts, inevitably with no real content, just so they can actually see the threads.
It was just a thought. I agree, I don't care for that way either. I didn't mind the groups to give access to different threads, but that would require nearly 24/7 monitoring to move users to the groups.
Not SEE the posts; just have certain amount of posts to post in certain sections.
Big influx.
Let me get them.

is it just me or are the links getting changed to the person "deleting".
I had posted chinajerseys that xr4man has but none of my links point to reported spammers now.
I must say, when I checked that^ link, it pointed to Simon's page, and I remembered the discussion about some thinking he was spam.
Anywho...
