All the electronical mods will be suplyed by an additional PSU. Perhaps an old Notbook-PSU wich will deliver enough Amperes. The motor in the Front, the one for the coveringplate, the alarm-system an perhaps my fake-touchscreen will be supplyed by this extra PSU. So i can move the Front an covering-plate although the system alread shut down. Over even while it's booting.

A member of the german board I'm from programmed me a microcontroler to display the status of my alarm-system on a 16x2 LCD WITHOUT a running OS. Today he send me a small video which I have to show you!
The first row schows the if the the system is armed or not. The second row shows if all sensores are "ready". For example: The Case stands on a bewel table an the sensor in one of the foots is not correct activatet the alarm will starts once the system gets armed. The displayed status will be changed by a 5V signal per row.

I was a little bored the last couple of houres so I build my Case in Cinema4D to make some animations. Also I thought about the water reservior. And this is what I propably will build:
Looking good. How many sensors for the alarm are there going to be? And which parts will they cover? All four feet? Side Panel? What about alarms for attached items? (Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, etc.)

Oh yeah, is there gonna be a language switch so you can have the display show in english or german?

Could you use the emergency stop button to close the door, kind of like emergency lockdown? You could also incorporate the LED into the button as well, mount the LED in the middle of the button and have it light up when the panel goes down, then when you push it the LED dims as it goes up.
Where I place the sensors I don't even know jet. Of course there will be one in one of the feet. I think that will last. Also there will be a sensor for every sidepanel an one that will monitor the plate covering the connections on back side. A separate monitoring for the attached items like keyboard, mouse ect. is not planed. I think the backplate will do this job. And this one will be monitored.
A language-switch for the LCD will not be added. My case will probably never leave Germany :)
The emergency button will close the window and the front door immediatly. My 3D-Key will reset the "emergency-mode" so the window and the door will move back in position. Perhaps some LEDs will blink when the Case is in "emergency-mode".
During the afternoon I will up a little Trailer i made over the last days. I just have to add some sound. Afterwards I will start to plan my moving water reservior so I can build it when I'm back in my workshop.
Also I have to thank the admins for putting my Case on the front page even I'm not able to show you progress.
just came to think of how much i like the idea:D... build it as sweet as you make it sound!
