ROFL !
More irritating, impractical protruding pieces added: the Tail section.
After I doodled in Sketchup, printed it out on paper.
The length was to big, so I cut quite a piece of. And ofcourse bevelled the edges.
Trying to find the 'right' way to stick it on.
And here it is, mounted and used the soap to smooth out the edges
Sooooo, where's the engine on this thing go? I mean really, you're pretty much a few pieces shy of this thing lifting off. Very nice. ^_^
Pics aren't loading, and I can't load them directly. Also, looks like they're down according to downforeveryone.com too, so it's not just me.
EDIT:
They're working now. It looks great with the tail.
Very, very nice. It looks ready to fly away.
Still throwin the 1337 into the pics I see. You never fail to deliver!
dude, that is one sick plane you've got there
Thanx guys, much appriciated !
I was doodling with a nose, what you think of this idea ?
Great work on that tail!!
I don't think that that nose is necesary... I can get the full plane picture already :)
Yea, I'd totally leave the nose out. I think at that point it might be a little bit too much. Besides, I think if you wanted to have the nose, you'd want to start it higher up and have it at a more drastic angle. IMO anyways...
The nose you sketched reminded me of something, but i couldn't think what. After a while I realised I was thinking of a cattle guard on a train.
Sorry.
I agree. It looks good without the nose. However, a train mod would be kinda cool.
;eave the nose off. It's like the sphinx: doesn't need a nose
i vote no on the nose, but it would look nice maybe if you had it go from the top to floor instead?
Great ideas though ! I am still not 100 % sure about the nose, so many pro's and con's. So i'll take a break ....
naaaaaaahhhhhh couldnt do that to you !! So here is the first part of the detailling.
You know my previous mods, so this will not surprise you ..... or will it?
How to make Laser-guided Missiles.
Take the cheapest ballpoint pen you can find from the dollar shop.
OMG, who BUYS these things? ( uhh me? )
Add some polystyreen ( Vikureen )
and fantasize some wings and a tail on to the pen.
First layer of matte-white paint.
Total 3 layers for max coverage.
From my kit-bashing stock, I could really use these decals.
Fantasy lettering on the areas that will be visible.
Made a hole for the laser-wires.
I painted the topcap in fire engine-red, added some block-decalls and fitted it all together.
Last test if it still burns on 2 x AA batteries. ( can also be 5 V from PSU )
Ready to engage !
Nice! Now just add some tiny solid-fuel engines in there and you're set! :D
Those look great. If I hadn't seen the pics, I'd have never believed they started out as pens.
I love the not-so-random number on your caliper :D
lol, my nuke guidance idea was right. and I agree 100% with the picture
Hahaha, loooooove the missile-pens!
Thanx guys, much appriciated ! :)
Did some more homework about weaponsystems, not neccesary F117.
( yes I know, those disapear inside the plane bla bla )
Here is a fine example of weapons on top, and underneath, thick and thin ones.
Oh and BTW, these rockets have fins both on front and rear :)
These rocketlaunchers are from a chopper. These I want to use.
These are dampers for pressurized air, saved from the garbage.
Glued 7 together in a nice symetrical way.
And this is how i want them underneath the wings.
Found two sidewinders, and mod them in the same colors.
Interesting. I've never seen missiles mounted above the wing before..what plane is that?
Nice missiles. Can't wait to see them on the case.
Pew Pew Pew!
After some SketchUp doodling, I decided to make a genuine Forex model of the nose idea.
Viewing from the front it didnt look half bad....
But looking form the side...it sucked. BAD IDEA.
Started with detailing using old-fashioned kit-bashing.
Hmmm isnt that an exhaust form a motorcycle.
Stick it on with some construction kit on apropiate places.
Ofcourse left and right as much equal divided.
Chrome drop shaped spoilers of the dollar shop, 6 for a euro.
Closeup of the air intake at the front.
I have nooooo idea what is was, but it is a part of my mod now !
Instead of the funny shaped nose, some strategically placed parts.
I didnt forget about the rear, also some model parts added.
No, not sticking it on just like that....
Neatly straight angled.
One damaged rivet.
Covered with a nice shaped modelpart.
:D
The case is now covered with parts in all kind of strange sizes and shapes.
All in different colors, so after this tha painting will cover them all.
Then the finer detailling starts.
Looks good. And I can't help but notice your helper. ;)
Oh yeah, he requested some sunshine too :)
Great!!
We told you about the nose, didn't we?? LOL Glad to see you experimented with it instead of leaving that woodchip in your brain XD
That kit bashing looks great!
^^ Lol, agreed, I like what you did with the pens :).
don't tell your case to fly. then you will be in some serious trouble with the Feds for flying a stealth case in their airspace
What the F*** is this ?
A deformed smiley ?
No, its all about this, one of the patches from the F117 squadrons.
Copied it in Forex and made nice bevelled edges on them.
Neat little ground plate.
And this is how it is mounted on the case.
First coating egg-shell mat black on it.
Starting to look like it.
Some more paint and detailling, were almost there now.
Allmost there!! That case is great!
Question, Please don't hate me, but are you happy with the joint between the wings and the case? maybe it can be solved with a little forex stick... What do tou think?
The rest of the case is just mind-blowing!
Nice nod to the USAF there with the squadron badge. I like it. :D
