Re: Project: Z machine!
** preparing the TBCS rig for gaming **
the motherboard TGS sent me is great and has alota features... but i was worried about heat issues... especialy seeing as i like to overclock
so nevermind1534 sent me a northbridge heatsink from a different motherboard (bigger than the original on mine)
so i swapped them today
and put the original northbridge heatsink on the south bridge (it didnt have anything to rly cool it)
^^ the new heatsink installed and the old one swapped ^^
( i used AS5 )
^^ added 2 60 mm fans from a OCZ mem cooler to cool both of them ^^
(im still tryin to figure out a way to properly secure them)
altho the install is a lil loose... they r performing greatly :)
side note... this rig runs crysis warhead with specs all at gamer with no lag (1024x768 because my monitor doesnt support a higher res) and GoW and CoD4 cant even make it lag... ive tried :P

Re: Project: Z machine!
That heatsink is huge; nice. And the XMS2 is beast. How much have the northbridge and southbridge sinks brought your temps down?

Re: Project: Z machine!
not sure... but with the fans included... went from being too hot to touch... to nice and cool.... cold rly
