i, being a geology guy, should take you outside and beat you for saying that. you would not believe how many geologists get put off when you say stuff like that. even "granite" isnt really granite. if you call it granite, you're taking your life in your own hands because you have about a 10% chance of being right. granite is the stuff you see that is mostly light coloured, and has pink in it. a rock as dark as that case is either porphyritic dacite or gabbro, which are NOT granite. they are much higher in magnesium and iron than granite, and have practically no feldspar in them. basically... that means its not granite. i guess i can let it slide this time... but dont let me catch you again or ill get my professors after you for a good full day of field geology head-cleansing.
actually, i wonder if project gabbro sounds any good. gabbro IS a funny word, even in the most serious of times.
