Makes me want a 360 just to mod.
Looks pretty ace, Mitternacht.
I know what I want to do now with the Project. Here's the next steps to the project:
I have it torn apart again.
I'm making a window for the DVD drive.
I have it kinda sketched out, but in order to get the right lines,
I used a folded piece of paper
to make the perfect shape I want,
and then traced it.
And 10 minutes later I have my window plans.
If it's powered off with no disc in it, I don't want plain gray plastic to be seen, so I'm gonna paint the disc tray color-changing paint, the ol' burple color.
I think it'll look good.
Why not go window crazy? That's right, a window over top of my hard drive.
Time to disassemble the hard drive.
The guts:
All disassembled:
The 120 GB Hard Drive:
This side will be seen thru the window.
Now to map the window.
Remember that paper?
It's a big help to make templates to trace.
That's about it. Next will be cutting the windows.
I just need to add blue lights inside the hard drive, and it'll be even better than before.
Mitternacht, you're one crazy bastard.
But we love you.
Also, I am LOVING your train of thought. "Hey, this isn't modded. Lets fix that..."
=D
Ok, let's get started.
Now that I got some pilot holes,
I can move on to the bigger tools.
Slight cuts:
Getting into shape.
And we have a window.
Now to smooth it all out.
This side was easy to smooth out.
Unfortunately it's uneven.
So after another hour of working with the files, I got it close to perfect. Like the lid, I'll get these machine smoothed someday so they'll be perfect and straight.
Now to assemble it.
The window's a little too long for my liking, but I can live with it.
Fnished:
Installed:
The boys, Wiedergeboren and Drei sechzig:
Really cool stuff :)
Needs LED's. It's modded, yeah, but in the midst of all the other blue light, it kinda gets lost.
Still, bitchin'. :D
Well hurry up and do it already. ;)
I'm looking for a computer job right now, and I'm thinking of using Wiedergeboren and Drei sechzig as part of a portfolio to impress the employers.
