Simply amazing dude. does that bluepoint say 168??
16.8 .... notice the gap? heh im not absolute on this... but.. pretty damn close lolz
would figure if he had something up around 168 in his PC there would be problems
Ok, yea I see the gap now. That makes a lot more sense. I shouldn't use the internet when I'm half asleep.
The bluepoint states 16.8 indeed ^^
Just posting up some more pics, should be able to get some final pics soon, just trying to get a deal with matrix orbital done first, that will decide when to conclude this project
Looking really good. Nice neat cabeling considering the amount of hardware you have in there. One question, is that res gonna be completely full?
Not sure yet, kinda like the flowing water effect that it has currently, looks awesome ^^
And currently its so much liquid in that ress that it will never fit in the hoses anyways, so the chances of running dry aint there
i think its safe to say thats awsomly awsome
^Very muchly awesomely-awesome... amirite?
Wow! Simply amazing. +rep
:stupid:Japanese spam?
this thing is a BEAST
Small update coming up :P
Have been taking a long break off this project , however.. i feel that its now completed, just need to drag it out of the house to take some pics of it
a new set of 4x WD 1500gb disks is on its way, so finally starting to close up to the target 30TB wanted before this years Gathering in norway
A bunch of cathodes have been mounted aswell, and some final touches has been made, ill get a video of the running water up asap, as well as the new pics
Sorry for the lack of updates, i promisse some awesome pics soon
That event looks really awesome. I can't wait for pics.
wow... that gathering would be weird... you gunna like run in with your case and put it infront of the orchestra? that be cool ...
Well my friend, its the world's second largest LAN party, only beaten by Dreamhack in sweden =)
oh... :O
Alright, that does it! Everyone pack their bags, we're going to Sweden...
Damn I could have gone and stayed with my Uncle in Holland if it was earlier in the year. Wouldn't be a long trip from there.
jd... i dont want another road trip with you... lol the last on was ineffective... we got nowhere ... you never showed up to get me..
I have one question why is so much hardrive space needed?
Im heading to one of the largest LAN parties in the world... and ffs guys... u should be here aswell... its from the 8th to 14th of april, lotsa foreigner tickets left!
i dont have remotely enough space to fit the DC hubs locally yet... :P exceeded 400TB of shared stuff last year 0.o
And its nice to have mediacenter's with a local search instead of a online search/download when u wanna access stuff ^^
Sounds like a heap of fun. I may see if I can get a plane ticket for my birthday lol, my birthday is the 7th of April. Won't sit well with the parents though cos that is the middle of the week and I am at Uni lol.
Time for a update again ^^
The sideplate [IMG]
As seen in earlier pics, the sideplate on the case has been somewhat consealing, so decided to do a small modification to it, found my cutter and took out a slob of it :P
The second loop!
Aaaand.... the watercooling stuff arrived today ^^
And the first victim would be the most trusted Atom board
Took off the small hinges on the original cooler
And we got a dirty dirty atom beneath -.-
Let the cleansing begin!
And we got a cooler mounted :P
The watertank with supporting rubber thingy with glue on ready..
All stashed up on top of the rack, right next to the newly added 1.5tb drives for the atom
3/4 of the disks in the atom ^^
Hosing up the memory!
Ah well... as some of u might know does OCZ produce wierd ass nozzle sizes for their watercooled memory lineup, so had to get a adapter to get my hose size on the second loop down from 3/8 to 1/4
Heres a pic of the modules with some hoses in place
A adapter from 1/2" ti 1/4" had to be used..
Gogo greenish coolant :P
Let the leak test commense!
and YES, i will have to clean up some in that cable mess... just need to get thermaltake to produce me some custom sized power cables -.- wich they refuse with all their might... god its annoying...
Would also help alot with some custom lenght sata cables :P
Let there be light!
Guess the time had also come to get that old fashion "im 14 yrs old light" in there aswell
gogo 30cm cathodes!
Ah well... thats it for this time folks... THE final pics will be ready the 8th if april, have to clean up some sideplates and drag the beast out of the room... to get some decent pics... will also have to start doing some custom cables myself if i cant get someone else to do the job ^^
this thing looks better everytime I see it
This looks great. I think I would have trouble using all 20TB.
all that i recall was looking at my dad when he bought a 20 gig hdd, laugh and say "do you realize how f#cking mental you would have to go in word to fill all that space!"
looks great non the less:)
I couldn't use that much space right now, but everything keeps increasing in size, so I wold eventually.
Saw this quote a few posts back...
I thought I was reading the next MasterCard commercial. That quote should have finished with, "Modding the ultimate kickass computer case, Priceless".
Great work you have done so far m8. Love everything about this build, especially the water setup. +rep
A mate of mine and I actually overloaded and killed a school computer plus caused the server damage by going mental in word lol. We copied and pasted "A" for something like 2million pages and then tried to save the word doc, the computer couldn't handle the size of the doc and neither could the server lol.
A water cooled Atom, now that is really cool, pardon the pun lol. Very nice work mate, fix up the cables a bit and you'r onto a winner ;).
Trying to get thermaltake to produce me some custom cut cables for me, but it doesnt seem too bright atm, so might go get me some custom pcp&c ones
I just got through reading the whole post and that is one awesome setup you have there. When I spent over $800 building my media server I thought it was kinda pricy. You have taken it to a whole new level, in $$ and capacity. One question, does the lights in the house dim when you fire that baby up???
the ram cooler looks soo awesome.. as does the rest of the case...
That's not a RAM cooler, that's the actual RAM, it comes that way lol, the new version is much more user friendly.
i knew that :) lol looks cool either way
wtf? the new version got awfully really tiny winy nozzles 0.o, EVEN SMALLER then the previous ones -.- how can the "new" modules be more user friendly? :P its double up of the really tiny winy nozzles aswell, wich is a effective double of possible leak possibilites 0.o
And thats without counting in the flow limitations it would give
The new model does use more hoses but they all plug into a single adapter meaning you don't have to shrink the rest of your loop to accomodate. You aren't ment to run it in a loop with a CPU or GPU anyway, it's designed for a secondary loop with NB, SB and mosfets in mind. The new blocks also cool better because you have coolant moving over the RAM chips rather than just the top heat collector.
Here is a good review on the OCZ Flex II:
