nice work
looks great froop!
Looking good froop :)
smart arse.... lol u are my insperation!!! (sounds so weird) great work FROOP DA WOOP
so, progress, im currently looking for someone who can lasercut the front, because i messed it up again :/
so anyways, i was browsing a random hardware supply marked and guess what i found:
CHEAP HARDDRIVE WATERCOOLERS YAY
i need two of em
the rest of the day i converted my eheim pump to 1/4" threads, which destroyed the pump :( BUT i was able to fix it with some resin, it still leaks, but ill fix that at work tomorrow
one of the cooler leaks a bit, but nothing mayor i cant fix
Interesting HDD coolers. Have you run any tests yet to see how much of an affect they actually have? I'm wondering how well the contact surface area and the (I assume) minimal surface area in the tubes will transfer heat. If it works well, it might also be worth trying as PSU HS's.
dont bother...I've got my WD drive in a thermaltake cooler, my 500GB drive that was sitting in a cage was about 10-12ºC cooler
Now that was an awesome idea! That to me is what modding is all about, innovative problem solving, +rep for the brains!!!
you owe me a new jaw... it broke when it hit the floor..
Sweet HDD coolers, never seen any quite like taht before.
What are those supposed to be? I would love to goto Home Depot and get some of that. Would help a lot in one of my projects. + rep for the idea. :)
I'm liking those custom hard drive coolers. Do you know how well they work yet? +rep
Neeways, can't wait to see the next update.

EDIT: By the way, I voted you for mod of the month on bit-tech!
Congratz on MOTM my friend, looks like you are leading the pack.
sup guys,
@Karbonkilla, i dont know what they are supposed to be, theyre just random aluminium profiles
and it would be cool if you would vote for me @ the bittech motm <3
so i started to design a box for the hdds
which will be fully vibration isolatet
but i still hadnt a clue where to actually put thesem so i designed a new floor which holds the hdds and goes under the actual case
ill have to add some windows to the front
cutting the aluminium is going to be "fun"
there are the hdds
i think ill add a cold cathode (blue) should create a neat lighting
ill try to build all this in the next two weeks
Dude great build, you got my vote ;).
Nice idea for the base, you inspired DF's Vento with your mobo cover, and it looks as if hes inspired you a little bit with the base design ;) Looks really cool, its gonna come out great.
/\ glad i wasnt the only 1 thinking that :) inspire buddys?
im ill :/ cant do much since i feel like a pile of sh**
so i decided to at least start to draw the stuff i need to cut out on the aluminium panel
should look somewhat like this
gladly today my painting stuff arived (which makes me look pretty fat :/ )
pwnage :D
so what i got: a painters suite, a new pair of protection glasses, some workers gloves, a set of one way medical gloves and a wickedly cool looking respirator mask :D
/\ lol fatty :) nah i cant talk :)
love your chair...
Nice paint gear. You look like a quarantine officer lol.
@ birbilo lol... yea must be hard.. :)
sup
cutting time
posing time
and filling time
the lower part cutted and filed
bendinggggg..........
after building all this, i came up with the idea of a removeable harddrive tray which will add more strenght to the entire construction, brb sketching time
wow...
thats cool
lol i wanna be buired in that pose... dremel and a hammer... :)
good work man looks sweet
this is awesome! great work my friend!!! +props
so well, ive made a hdd vibration damper
and the vibration damping material
testing if everything sits
finished
and in black
its not THAT accurate, because its hidden anyways
now ill think about the tubelayout from down there to the rest of the setup
Ahh the good old sponge and foam trick, works quite well.
yeah... ill have to add lots of foam to vento :) thats a neat idea man nice..
on one end are you just gonna connect some L fittings?
yeah, the connection for the WC is routed outside of the case
the lower part is roughly done now
Nice metalwork there dude, that is going to look fantastic!
:hurt::dead::dead::wacky::devcool:
your awesomeness killed my brain
that is soooooo cool nice work man
The base looks sweet, well done.
WOW, that's a really effective design. Looking amazing mate.
Just caught onto this one, glad I did, great work & looking Great  +rep
after 4 days of work, i got all this
first i remade the harddrive frame
made a frame for the base
bought some stuff
glued some stuff
some bondo, some sanding, and some glue
well that'll take a while
mostly because i have to glue, bondo and sand every single part to the end because i cant get to it after ive glued the next part on
somewhen in betweeen i painted the frame black and and added some felt
also ive won the mod of the month @ bittech :)
nice work bro!
very good..
lol nice building material! that wouldnt be a road sign would it ?
I'm really glad to see it coming together. Nice build.
so, current status in gluein
some better shots of the feet
and bought some white delrin on ebay, yes, for no reason :P
days ago i recieved my mdpc-x sleeve, heres what it looks like
lasercut stuff arrived
then i started making a cover for the front
the same out of styrene
then i made a cover for the plexi strip on the rad cover
glued some aluminium foil in there and added some leds
neat
even more when you turn the shutter speed down :p
since i had to remove the radiator to fit that thing in, well, was to bored, so these are the only shots ive taken
lights off
gotta remove some dust
more tomorrow
