alright so I just ordered these:

And will be doing something similar to rendermandan's case feet on Dark Carbon :devious:
Will post an update once the spacers arrive!

Mmmm, CF...beautius. :D
alright so after a lot of messing with the feet, they're not going to work. I mean can make them work no problem, but the round CF tubes just don't fit with the overall look of the case. So that idea is scrapped. I'm just waiting on my FIL to use his D3000 and this project will be done!
Alright my father-in-law left about 30 mins ago, here's a teaser :D
(Oh and it was a Pentax, coulda sworn it was a Nikon though)
I should have the pics in raw format on a DVD from him withing the next few days! He also took some nice pics of Rockin Case (FINALLY!)
I love that top piece, & the motorization of it is super cool SXRguyinMA 8). +rep
thanks!
speaking of motorization.... :devious:
Even sounds cool & opens so fast but precise, the rgb lights look very sweet too, superb mod bud .
This has got me tempted to order a servo & experiment to see if I could find a use for 1 in a mod .
it's simple to learn, I had never done ANYTHING with microcontrollers or Arduino before this. Arduino is SUPER easy to learn. Although crenn and oneslowz28 did help me out here and there :D
I was to pick up another Arduino just to have to play around with, it's fun, and the uses are almost unlimited :D
Ok, forgive me if I missed it, becuase I just did a re-reading of this worklog but it was admittedly quick. The louvers are controlled by temperature sensors, correct? Where and how are they placed?
they're controlled by a single temp sensor, and it is taped to the topside of the base of my CPU cooler
The two red lines are where the temp sensors are. one for the louvers and the other for the sentry 2 fan controller for the CPU fan. it reads about 10ºC less than what Core Temp says in that position, but part of that may be due to the fan blowing air directly onto the sensors. I may move them, but that seemed like the best place for now. I may put them under the CPU retention bracket like that in that one vid someone posted on here a while back :D
alright the GOOD pics are here! With this this mod is officially FINISHED :D
ENJOY!
Looks awesome, great work. I guess I missed this, but what's the tray-thingy about half-way down the front?
that is a Tt ibox :D it holds all my SD cards, adapters, flash drive, small screwdrivers, etc

It came with my Armor case, but I love it so much I had to keep it. that and I screwed up one of the front mesh things to the NZXT case, so I needed to fill the hole lol
ooh, I'm getting those
And since I'm feeling a touch critical, This mod is really quite awesome! I just have two small issues with it
1) the hole for the fan controller is a tiny bit too big
2) the PSU shield looks a little funny because it looks like it tilts
just minor issues, but it's still an amazing mod(especially the vents, which I WILL try to replicate one day:devious:) have a drink for a mod well done!
well lets see. for the fan controller, I purposely made it a tad too big because I liked the way the exposed traces and such looked, so I made it like that on purpose to give it a neat look. and as for the carbon PSU cover, I didn't even notice it was tilted until these pics! But, it still looks awesome :D
Thanks for the feedback it's much appreciated!
And a thumbs up from NZXT!

Wow, congrats dude!
I thought you might find this interesting for your project!
EDIT: Helps if I give the link
http://hackaday.com/2010/09/30/launc...o-the-extreme/
that's neat!
It could also free up your arduino and you could have dedicated hardware for the servo!
That is quite impressive. Granted, it's not doing a whole lot, but still, 2+ weeks on 20F? That's damn impressive.
yOU GOT FEATURED http://hackaday.com/2010/10/10/add-o...flaps-to-a-pc/
Heh, I was about to post this, got beat to it.
And back onto the front page you go!! :P
WOOHOO!!!
Wow, congrats dude!
thanks!!
On the downside to this...my Photobucket account went from 1.7GB bandwidth usage to 13.3GB just today! Seeing how the limit is 10GB/month, I have no pics till the 28th
I could just create another account, but then I've got MANY pages of posts and pics to re-link, and it's not worth it. I'll see if I can swing the $25 to get pro, but for now, sorry for the links :(
Heh... the HAD effect
all fixed :D
Engadget too!

All the people making incredulous statements about why or how you did something are a bunch of no talent SEU's that have not even moved out of the beige tower stone age, SXR as Katt Williams would say."Keep it pimpin', pimpin."
Thanks guys! Im not worried about the negative comments. :D I love the guys that replied to those negative ones with "because he can" lol. With everything though, there will always be haters :D
Another mention.
