wow...custom made switches...i kan't wait to start my mod but i kan't stop watching defyants work either :S...really insipring and great for ideas...thanks for all the entertainment, ideas and details defyant. GOOD EFFing JOB..holy cow!
This was one of the first mods I spotted on here, and it is absolutely stunning. Fantastic work Defyant and HP-4 is in a league of its own as well. You are truly a master of plex. The mobo covers on your mods are fantastic and really make your cases stand out. I would really like to try one on my current work in progress. Any thing special I should take into consideration? I plan to go liquid cooled.
It might be too late for this, but have you considered frosting the LEDs themselves? It might distribute the light better across the plex, but if you're happy with the light distribution, that's cool.
As always thanx for the great replys guys :)
This motherboard cover is prolly the most "exotic" ive done yet, and was pretty much done "touch and go" the basics were to make sure it fitted over the MB and the rest was cut, bend and see. I was lucky to have got it spot-on first go! but for an "organic" look it's the best way to go about it.
All the other covers have been first done using a pre-made template, something thats thin clear and the vital parts can be traced then then cut and transfered onto the end solid cover. It makes it feel like your doing the same mod twice but is worth the effort.
For Flame'd (HP-4) i cheeted! because the actual cover was clear plex to start with , i just needed to hold it over the baord mark the vital parts and cut. The back of the clear plex can then be painted any colour thats fits i with your theme and i think this is the best way to go about it.
I use posts made of stacked brass standoffs! and always make sure theres at least 1-2 cm's clearance from the vital parts...
Water cooling takes car of heat transfer! so the vital heat parts are not as heat strained as with normal air cooled rigs. A small fan can always be added for some active northbride cooling.

Man lookn awesome
The rad, pump & fan are looking good! Nice paint job!
Dude, one question: what about tha dust???
Dude, hes in Australia.. You know how when you flush the toilet and the water swirls in one direction but if you go to the opposite hemisphere the water swirls in the opposite direction. Dust is like that in Australia .. Where is flows into a case here in the States .. it ACTUALLY flows OUT of the case there... :)
Hey dont diss us Aussies.
hehe! no dust probs here! if you can spot a spec lemme know :)
daaamn i can't:D but i was not refering to paint, i was talking about daily use, i have big problems (got to build a air-box)
That paint job looks ace, really ace!
Nps mate i did get it :) i was just hinting to the fact i used a proper spray booth to paint the parts :)Quote:

wow this is great man , great craftsmanship, it looks real purdy :D
Sweet Mod Man!! I was gonna suggest that you make another, smaller clear bar on the face for the power button, but your idea of using an existing one was sweet! Are you gonna have a floppy for those who haven't figured out how to use a RW-CD of DVD? Anywho sweet Mod!
Defyant, your **** is so tight.
A little stool softener can help with that;) Dude, you the man:)Quote:
