Skynet has been proven a myth. Please see this thread... http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/f...ad.php?t=26233
It was supposed to be sarcastically in allcaps.
It hasn't been proven a myth, it's just been proven to possibly be very stealthy in its mission to eradicate us so far. Or maybe it BSODed...or someone tripped over the power cord...or perhaps it's just perfectly content with letting us destroy ourselves first...or maybe it turned out to be a completely benevolent AI and sends war machines out to pick bouquets of flowers...:D
All caps is yelling, not sarcasm. The internet can do anything!..except positively convey sarcasm. I guess everything has to have its Achilles heel.Quote:

Energy saving and low heat output.
My folding is heading for an all time low. Not only did I deliver that 2600k system to a client, every WU my Radeon 4870 has picked up in the last 24 hours has failed with an unstable machine error (despite the card NOT overheating or having any problems driving my main display) and every WU the Nvidia GTS250 has tried has sat at 0% - all I'm getting at the moment are a few k per day from my Q6700 CPU
Actually, it occurs to me that everything went to hell since I installed 7 SP1 - wonder if that's the problem....
So my PC is just point-blank refusing to fold on either GPU. The Radeon keeps coming up with an unstable machine error before it even starts - so it definitely isn't an overheating issue. I ran the ATI overclock setup and it managed to overclock my GPU and run tests for nearly 30 mins, and there are ZERO issues with my display so I'm all but certain there's nothing wrong with the card. The nVidia on GPU3 won't start - I've tried with the GPU tracker (sits at 0% forever) and the standalone (tells me its going to sleep) so I'm stumped.
3k ppd for me for the forseeable - I'm not uninstalling SP1 (yet) as that seems to have been the start of all the problems.
Weird. I saw similar problem on my secondary system, but only when a Remote Desktop session was active.
