Re: Post Your Computer(s) Configuration/specs
The current set up I have for my day to day rig is all pretty mid range, but does a great job for what I need.
CPU: Intel E2140 1.6Ghz (This thing absolutely wallops the 3.07Ghz Celeron D it replaced, even the the clock speed is almost half)
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-965GM-S2 Micro ATX. (Chosen because I prefer Gigabyte and this one had 7.1 onboard audio and 6 SATA ports)
RAM: 2x1Gb sticks of Kingston DDRII 667
Video: 2x20" Samsung SyncMaster 203B LCDs plugged into a Gigabyte 8600GT video card (only decent card I could find that had 2 DVI ports, had sVideo and RCA output for TV and most importantly, only takes up one PCI slot), I also have a el-cheapo AOC 19" widescreen LCD hooked up to the onboard video on the MoBo.
Storage: 160Gb Maxtor for OS, 320Gb Seagate and two 500Gb Samsung drives for media storage. All drives are SATA.

maybe i should have waited and saved up for the E2140, ohwell. bucko can you do a nuclearus test? i got 3047 or something with my celeron D 420 stock and 5879 OC'd.
Re: Post Your Computer(s) Configuration/specs
Spawn, I don't have that to run, but you can check the different CPU scores in this post in the Aquamark thread. The E2140 gets almost THREE times as high a score as the Celeron D!
I tend to have the CPU usage meter running in my task bar. With the Celeron D it would hit 100% while refreshing the forum and watching a DVD at the same time. The DVD would start to stutter. It would do the same thing while using the TV tuner card.
Now I can have the TV tuner open and recording a show on one screen, watch a DVD on the next screen and have the forum open on the last and be downloading something all at the same time and it barely gets to 70-80%.
After my experience with the Celeron D I will NEVER recommend it to anyone! Friends don't let friends buy Celeron chips.
Re: Post Your Computer(s) Configuration/specs
haha, guess i really should have waited. ohwell this is just a temp solution until i get more money.
Re: Post Your Computer(s) Configuration/specs
That's why I bought the Celeron too. My AMD Athlon XP2000+ was starting to play up. Not sure if it was MoBo or CPU, but I decided it was time to upgrade anyway and thought the Celeron looked good to do me for a while.
How wrong I was....
