Here we go with one more update!
A lot of work, more to follow but things are going good for now!
Lets begin right away with the work I did on the second side panel.

A t first I glued a wooden rod on the chassis as a mock up for the side panel.
Then I started cutting and gluing the rods, a long and time wasting process.....

I calculated the space needed for ventilation due to the radiators exhausting hot air,
so I cut the rods in the right size and I also took in count the extra acrylic etc I was going to add.

I draw some designs on the 1mm acrylic for the first piece I was going to add on the panel.

After I cut it, I glued it on the side panel.

I also made a design on the second piece, I cut it, filed it and glued it.

Time for more designs based on simple half circle concept to be but for extra ventilation.
It looks messy cause I was experimenting with a couple alternative solutions!!

And dremel in action again!!

After I finished filing,sanding the front pieces it was time for me to add the mesh.
I used 2 different kinds of mesh, one with bigger holes than the other. Art is involved too! ;P

For maximum durability I used a Byson universal adhesive which I used not to only glue but to create a kind of crust between the plastic and the mesh which is holding them together really tight.

Here is the finer mesh I used. I cut it into the right shape and then by gluing little by little I firmly attached it too.

And here is the side panel almost finished as it needs more sanding and also, painting!!! lol

I also added a thumbscrew to hold it in place!

Here you can see the extra ventilation on the bottom, the same thing I did on the left side panel.

And here is how it looks on the back.

Off course it needs more sanding etc and after painting it will change completely! Now I need to buy my self an airbrush!! If anyone knows a good UK store I can find one but with shipping to Cyprus please msg me! Thanks for watching guys, till next time, peace!!!

Update no 11 guys and we move on!
Lets see what I did these few days.
First off all, the installation of the rad holders.
Measured the right distance between them as they will be "sandwiched" (lol killer term!) .
Marked the holes as I will use both screws and glue for maximum durability.

Drilled the holes and also countersunk them on the bottom.

Some glue, screws and voila, done!!!

Then it was time to cut 4 pieces from white acrylic which I am going to attach on the main compartment to hold together the 2 pieces. (main + watercooling)
First I draw the outline on the acrylic.

Oh my trusty dremel, my great helper!! ;)

Then I used the vise to hold them together in order to sand them/ file them.
After 20 minutes I finished that step!

Time for some drilling! I also tapped threads on the acrylic for the 10mm screw, just to hold it in place.

Finished!!!

I decided to put an extra screw on each of the supporters which are holding the chassis of the second compartment.
The head of the screws are not going to be visible as I will cover them later with isopon.
The screws are only for extra durability and safety.

After that, I glued the remaining back piece of the main compartment. I used plastic welder
which is really really strong and I advise you if you are going to use it first make sure that you are not gluing something wrong as it is impossible to fix it later on!
I am talking from my experience as you will see in an upcoming update.

After it dried I decided to take some pictures with the side panels on just for you to get an idea what I am up to!! Hope you are going to like it even if its too late yet.

Time for a bigger update this time, full with errors, art and off course ... progress!!
First off all, the disaster cause by plastic welder for being so strong in bonding plastics (duh)
and my bad luck cause I took 110 per cent precautions for not doing any mistakes on gluing the pieces together!
And after I tried with a million ways to take the two pieces apart here is what happened!

There is nothing some fiberglass cant fix! I dont bother cause as I told in a previous update I am going to sand and paint the case again as the white acrylic is somehow see through and this I dont like.

While the fiberglass was drying, I went back in the room to start drawing the extra designs for the main side panel.
I used 1mm clear acrylic.
First some measures and main marks.

Out again for some cutting and filling! I also used various dremel bits for the details!

After a couple of hours the fiberglass was completely dried and I filled it. The details and more sanding etc will be at the very end before the painting!

I also tested the screws that are going to hold the two compartments together!

I created a supporter for the main case out of acrylic. I attached it by using both screws and glue.

Time to move on with the side panels artistic addition! A lot of filing and sanding as you see!

Also used this bit for the details.

More designs and also cutting and filling!

I attached the design with some cement glue.

Yes, indeed, moooooore dremel action, filing and sanding!!

And thats all for now, more work to follow on the side panel!

Update no 13 guys!!
I didnt do a lot of things these days cause I had some other jobs to do and also I wasnt in the
mood due to daily problems...

So!!
Lets begin!
First of all some more artistic designs! I created that small window/design so you can see the reservoir which will be right behind!!
Designing is always the first step!

Cut it by using a diamond edge disc perfect for acrylic.

Used this dremel bit for the details.

And after a looooot of filing and sanding here is the outcome!

Later on I decided to create the main side panel's holder.
Long ago I went and purchased some hydraulic door openers which at the end they were way too strong to be used with this mod so I had to create something by my self.

Many ideas but finally I decided to make something simple yet functional.
I used 5mm acrylic and a lot of fantasy :)

And here it is finished!

Drilled a hole and also countersink it for perfect fit.

Little space left just enough to use a plastic ring later to make the movement a little stiff as I dont want this to cause any kind of vibrations and unwanted extra sound lolz!!

Drilled a hole on the chassis and tapped it. Testing complete!

I also created some stoppers for the side panel and the chassis. I attached it by using some epoxy glue (not plastic welder lol)

And here you can see that is stiff enough to move freely and loose around!

I also drilled and tapped a hole the side panels screw to hold it in place! Strange placement isnt it? :P

I do. This is crazy and not what I expected. I think that's what I like about it the most.
It turned out much bigger than I was expecting. What is all the extra room in the bottom part for?
