Brilliant mod, I love these retro looking powerhouses.
Just think.... the mod you're building will probably have more computing power than most of the army did when that box was made.....

I just saw this mod is back. Looks like it will be even sweeter than the original. Good luck with it.
Spent this morning making a nice rack for my valves....they will be lit wirth high intensity LED's via an electronic gizmo that gives different lighting patterns.....It's gonna be cool!
I used my new step cutter but didn't have any life in my camera batteries
Work has stopped on the Interocitor for a few dfays as I'm feeling terrible. I've gtot a horrible cold and I'm just a huge snot producing machine, at present. However, my new graphics card arrived yesterday it's the XFX 8800GTS 320Mb. I installed it in my current desktop setup just to test it and it flies! It's replacing a 2x BFG 7800GT SLI setup which was starting to show it's age a little.
More updates when I can get out of bed again.....cough cough.....aaaaaa-tchoooo!
Ouch!
Get well soon mate:up:
can't wait to see this thing finished
Still feeling a bit under the weather, so I got some retail therapy under my belt. I ordered a CPU (Core 2 Quad Q6600go) and that meant the motherboard for the new Interocitor had to be upgraded too... So I ordered the ASUS P5K-VM. Naughty but nice!
I have to go for a minor operation on Monday and my plan is to spend my recouperation time making some serious progress on this mod! Fingers crossed!
Ouch!
You better get well, we need some progress on this mod.

Well I'm back from my hernia operation and all my plans have gone to rat-sh*t. I am walking round the house like an ancient old geezer and I keep having to stop for naps! Maybe next week I'll have some updates for you.... My new quad core CPU arrived and the new Motherboard along with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro, to keep it all in check.
Just don't make me laugh, it hurts my stitches!
Ouch!
Hooray!
I am feeling a bit better today so I got lot's of work done on the new Interocitor!
I must be careful though, I'm still not allowed to lift heavy things or stretch too much in case my stitches let go!
So, to business.....
I spent the morning cutting, drilling and filing to get all the chassis parts as near to finished as I could. Then a good wash in the kitchen sink befrore a coat of primer,
I'm not sure of the final colour of these components but they need to be a light colour, so I went for the old white primer.
Then I used about 20 Dremel cutting disks to cut the side window in the outer shell.
Filing all the cuts straight took ages. I put tape on and then filed up to the edge of the tape so I could see the line clearly.
I'm so pleased to be working on this mod again, being on the sick list was getting me down!
I have also done some soldering work on my lighting system but more of that next time.
See you soon
Ouch!
YEA, I am excited to see progress being made on this mod.
