Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Hello everyone!
I've recently been watching a lot of old episodes of The Screen Savers just for kicks, and I saw a segment about some mods from The Best Case Scenario so I decided to come check it out. I don't have any experience modding or building computers but I have been planning to build myself a new rig sometime soon, and modding my own custom case is a dream project for me. Once I get a plan in my head I'll post something about it, most likely accompanied by hundreds of questions =) I can't wait to get started!

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Welcome to TBCS!! Look forward to seeing your plans, your work, and yes even your questions.

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Hey all!
I'm about to embark on a foolishly ambitious steampunk art-deco mod that will hopefully be my first of many.
I've loved building the insides of computers, but it's hard to show that off to people unfamiliar with the inner-workings. So I'm looking to build a masterpiece!
I'll be looking for lots of help and this looks like the perfect place.

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
tk421storm -> I was just 48 hours too slow. grrr
Evening all - I've got a shuttle and a large pile of wood.
budget permitting I plan to have an all in one art-punk-deco teeny unit.
now i feel like a copy cat...

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Hi, all been out of the modding community for a while. I switch from hobby to hobby all the time,(modding, airguns, archery, anything r/c). I just thought I'd see if Crimson was working on any new projects. His Extreme Pc Mods book helped me alot with the paint on my current pc I painted a couple of years ago.

We'd love to see pictures of your case, and welcome to TBCS!

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Hello all,
Just thought I'd introduce mahself. I have built PC's for some coworkers, just usually basic stuff, maximizing the performance while limiting the impact on a wallet. I am working on my own rig, called Mark1, and have been for a few months now. Alas, I too suffer the woes of being, well, broke.
I am by no means as advanced as a lot of the people on here, but I get by :D. So far, I have;
Lexa Blackline Case,
eVGA 790i ftw with digital PWM,
Intel QX9770,
LG GGW-H20L,
Tagan BZ 1100w psu.
And thats about it so far. I plan on doing some (in my opinion) severe modding to the case. I am going to be running,
(2) GTX 285 ftw,
Koolance Exos 2.5,
at least one tv tuner card,
WD raptor 320gb,
(5) WD 2tb HDD,
and of course a few other things.
When I have the money for more parts and more modding, I'd like to start a project log. As it is now though, progress has somewhat stalled.
So there it is, and there I am. I'm happy I found this site, it has so much fantastic stuff on here. I'm very excited to be a part of this community. And if anyone else is in Phoenix, hit me up! Now we can start the bashing on my processor and for using Koolance. Oh well.

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Welcome Mark1! Sounds like you have a good start there, I'll be looking forward to your project. I think there is someone else here from Phoenix, but I can't remember who at the moment.

I'm not really new, but I did sort of disappear for a few months, for my own personal reasons. And I figured I'd say that I'm sort of back now, and see if anyone remembers me :D

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Ok so I'm not exactly new here since I joined back in 2005. I was away for awhile do to a few life changes, but I'm here again and hope to stay!! I have been viewing the site for quite awhile lately but haven't posted. There are some great Mods going on here and I will eventually add one when I get it started. It won't be much since it will be the first, but I'll give a try.

Re: New Members Introductory Thread
Hey everyone.
I've been building systems for almost 20 years and decided it was time to take it up a notch and mod the case.
TBCS has all the information a novice modder like me needs. I figured, since I'm using the information, I might as well try and contribute.
By the way, this is the first forum I've ever been a member to.

Congratulations on taking the dive into forums! This was my first forum too, and from what I've seen around, one of the friendliest. You'll find many eager students here (myself included) so please do share some of that knowledge you've acquired over the years. We are ever hungry for more tips! Welcome to TBCS!!!

Hello Everyone!
My name is "SENJU". Well that is what I want to be called on the Internet anyway! :D I am currently just starting to create a PC mod so I guess I need to make a worklog. To be honest, I built many computers but this will be my first time trying to mod....a little bit anyway.
Cheers,

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hello everyone, I'm Zeroignite!
I've come over here from bit-tech.net, where I hung out infrequently for a few months. The mods housed there were quite interesting, but I didn't like the rapidly growing commercialism and the general tone. I'm also a pretty active over at the xkcd forums, same nick.
List of mods so far (nothing major at all):
Dremel-ing in a window, lights, fanswap, sleeving
Turning an ATX PSU into a bench supply
Making a USB deskfan out of a casefan and some housing wire.
HDD art, acrylic cover on still spinnable drive.
DIY letter opener out of some plumbing and an old heatsink.
As of now, I'm a 17-year-old student who likes to put things together in his spare time. I'm designing a acrylic scratch-build for the summer, may post plans soon.
