Bayonetta was fun, if a little annoying at times.
Borderlands + Expansions/DL Content.
Beat Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
Jeez I don't know how the heck I used to destroy Ninja Gaiden on xbox on the hardest difficulties and can't for the life of me do well on this one. Must be getting old. Had to lower the difficulty down to beat it.
Funny as I walk through Demon's Souls. . . guess it's just the pacing.
Just finished Machinarium last night. Wonderful game I'm hoping for a sequel soon.
Machinarium is a very cool game. Did you pick it up during the recent Steam sale?
I grabbed the Humble Indie Bundle. I love it when the developers do stuff like that so I buy that way if I've got the $$ when they do it. Usually get 1 or 2 games that I probably wouldn't look at otherwise, and some of them turn out to be great games.
Plants Vs Zombies, Torchlight, and Mass Effect 1.
As soon as my GPU gets here, I'll be in Dragon Age.. maybe.
I'm on a roll, lol, and yet still getting everything done. Winter downtime is nice.
Beat Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Another awesome game. It was simplistic, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of different weapons you can use and upgrade. I loved the flying parts.
Reinstalled GRID after completing NFS: Hot Pursuit, so I've been playing that the last couple weeks. Decided I'm going to give Dead Space a go now.
/edit: Well I tried Dead Space for like an hour and the movement just didnt feel right. I felt like I had to stop moving then move my camera in order to turn.
NFS Hot Pursuit on the xbox360.
Finished Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood.
Fun game. I like the western theme and the gunfights. The game did seem a little too easy though even on hard. Too bad the multiplayer is pretty much vacant.
I really enjoyed that one. Now you are going to make me want to play it again. I like the time period and starting in the battle was pretty cool.
I also liked the time period. I wish there were a little more leeway in how you have to resolve some situations. Sometimes the storyline didn't seem to match up. Like having to shoot up the entire town to escape when the brothers would have known that was a sure way to NOT be able to reclaim your home.
Starting in the battle was actually the hardest part of the game. I kept dying throughout the entire battle scene, over and over. Once the story moved into the wild west theme it seemed to get easier. Although it took me about a dozen times to win my first gun fight. After that it took me no more than 2 try's.
Want to hear something funny? I never used bullet time until about 80% of the way through the game and never played the older brother (the one with 2 guns) unless I had to. Even when I played that brother I only used the slo-mo shooting once or twice. I completely forgot about it and had to check the manual as to why the indicator in the top right kept changing and then counting down.
LOL!
EDIT: If you do fire it up again we should duel or try some of the other multiplayer modes.
If I can find it that would be cool. I never played multiplayer with it. Just have to figure out if it was one of the games I traded away. It isn't in my stack so I'm thinking it was.
I actually only used the older brother. I didn't care much for using the younger brother if I remember correctly. I don't remember there being a particular reason for it though.
Got back into Forza 3 on xbox 360 now that i have live again.
I finally beat Fallout 3 GOTY Edition, and have been chipping away at Fallout: New Vegas, Borderlands, & Just Cause 2. So many quality games, so little free time...
Just beat Eternal Sonata on the PS3 last night. Took a while as things are getting busy again.
Was a pretty good game. I liked the battle system, but every battle was a tank and spank, so there wasn't any point in using anyone but your most powerful characters, characters that can build up another character, or a healer. I wish there was a bit more strategical battles, or at least ones that made you think a bit more.
The enemy variety was a little lacking. It was mostly palette swaps of the same few creatures. But honestly I didn't really notice, as every enemy pretty much plays the same.
I make it sound bad by reading it but I really did enjoy it for what it was. I kept a save before the final bosses so I can go back and do the bonus dungeon some time along.
Now to choose Valkyria Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid 4, Bayonetta, or Nier for my next adventure. Hmmm. . .
Well this is what Ive spent my last two weeks playing. Have one head-to-head challenge left but damns he tough.
GRID
Game is a few years old but its quite fun and pretty realistic. Only annoying thing I found was the teammate that you hire to race for your team. You'd think a teammate is their to help win, but no, I think he messed me up more than anyone. A few times we would be fighting for first place, then he comes a long and totally hits me and I get wiped out. Like wtf..
You mean there's no "make my teammate let me pass him" button like in F1? ;)
Beat Bayonetta on Normal. Pretty fun game. The fiance didn't care for all the sexual overtones, but I really liked the game. It felt a lot like Devil May Cry to me, which after looking it up isn't surprising.
It is a very short game though. But it feels like one of those games you play over and over, not to beat, but to perfect.
I love GRID, I'm about 3/4 the way through it right now, haven't played in a while though. I recently started playing Burnout Paradise, it's a great way to have so random, high speed, crashing fun :D.
I am trying, REALLY hard, to get into Fallout New Vegas but it's boring me half to death - am I missing something (everyone seems to be raving about the game) or have I just gotten too used to fast paced instant gratification with the COD games I've been beating to death recently....
Finally finished Bioshock 2.
It was quite funny. I had been playing on my desktop gaming rig and had not played for a while. I got a new laptop last year and have been playing games on that for quite a while. Well I decided to move my gaming rig into a new water cooled case and before I did, I went through the process of backing up all my save game data and all my personal files (very few since that rig is only for gaming). Burned a couple of data CD's for easy access and them started moving the parts. I then loaded Bioshock 2 on the laptop, down loaded the updates and then moved my save games onto the laptop. I fire up the game and continue from where I left off and got about 15 minutes in before I finished the game....
LOL!
I spent hours prepping to play the game only to finish in 15 minutes... hehe
Beat Bayonetta again, this time on Hard. I didn't notice any framerate problems on Normal, but it definitely comes through on Hard.
Now to beat it on infinite climax. Haven't wanted to play through a game this many times in a long time (since the original Ninja Gaiden on xbox), but I enjoy the fighting in this game. I just skip through the cut scenes as I just watched them the first time through.
Okay, I beaten GTA San Andrea and now I’m playing COD modern warfare second episode and True crime.
Finished downloading Test Drive Unlimited 2 through Steam this morning, awesome game and it looks great, even though my laptop can only run it at nearly medium lol.
oh crap! i almost spit coffee out my nose on this statement. i rememebr playing THE original ninja gaiden at the video arcade back when low end computers cost thousands of bucks and windows didn't exist yet. my friend ken could beat it on 1 quarter.
anyway, i recently finished up redneck rampage. i spent years collecting just the right hardware to get it run properly. yay dos 6.2!!!
next up is redneck rampage, suckin' grits on route 66.
Anyone risked C&C4? Biggest disappointment since Oblivion for me (yes I didn't love Oblivion, it just wasn't good enough to succeed Morrowind which was perfect!) I also made the unfortunate mistake of buying this game off Ebay for £2.25 so of course it ha already been linked to someone else's account making it unplayable... Luckily I got the guy to provide his details and was able to play all the way through the GDI campaign before the password he gave me stopped working :(
Anyway, I was prepared for it's crappy, non-C&C formula way before I bought it thanks to every single preview and review of the game slating it. Still hard to believe just how much they've managed to ruin such an amazing franchise though. And it's not like they were trying something new for the future either as this was the final game of the series! There is no justification either by the devs or in the game itself as to why all these ridiculous changes have occured.
Red Alert has always been the camp game in the franchise, no.3 was absolutely gushing! So why all of a sudden did they decide that the Tiberium series needed an infusion of gayness as well? I actually ranted about this game on another site so much that it was considered a review by the other members there :p
Anyway, the only thing I found worth doing in this game was grinding for achievements so I'm not too disappointed that I can't complete the Nod campaign. Kane wins in the end of the GDI campaign anyway so what's the point of this game? And how can it be the last game if SPOILER he reopens the gate and invites the aliens to return at the end?
On a side note, I've been trying to play GTA4, Episodes from Liberty City (on PC) but it lags terribly even though the main game is perfectly fine. Google tells me that thousands of people have the same issue but last time I checked there was no solution so I guess that was a waste of money. AND it's another game that requires linking to an account so I had to mess around cracking it ebfore I could even play the damn thing.
To follow the theme, I also bought East India Company as a trade-in from Gamestation (UK store) and that required account verification as well so no dice! What's the deal with all this verification, protection and other various bull? Like it's enough to stop people making illegal copies of it anyway, just takes longer to do (I'm not condoning or supporting this mind you) It's just a cheap trick to force people to buy the game new as once it's been used then it's completely worthless to everyone but the initial buyer.
Bah, rant over...
I have a Dell Studio 15 1555 running an Intel P8600 2.4GHz duel core, 3GB DDR2 RAM and a Radeon HD4570 running at 1366x768 res. The game plays fairly well with everything on medium without AA and at my highest possible res. Sometimes it does lag out though so I knocked everything down to low except car detail just to go a little easier on my aging laptop. I'll have my new PC as soon as they fix Sandybridge anyway so gaming graphics isn't a huge thing for me right now, just as long as I can play the game i'm happy, the cars look pretty nice on medium anyway :D.
Just started playing NFS: Most Wanted again, and remember why I got so frustrated before. Be driving along at 180mph beside a Cobalt that runs headfirst into another car. I keep going at that rate and with 4-5 seconds he's right back beside me. WTF?
I can't stand games that try and increase the difficulty by being cheap. It shouldn't be a valid way to do so. Ya, a Cobalt is going to hit 200mph+ in 2-3 seconds from a dead stop.
Lol, I can deal with that, being a game and whatnot. Then again they are accelerating while plowing through light post after light post, tree after tree. They just cheat.
If you go less than a hundred they will just barely stay ahead of you, but if you go near 200 they'll go like 10 above you to always be there. Bleh.
Thursday while at a thrift store I found a copy of Duke Nukem 3D - Complete Version for $3. Time to bring back some memories!
Command & Conquer 4: Tiberium Twightlight. :(
sigh.. why EA .. why?
eh it's ok Curtis, just come do some more BC2 and let me get your tags!
im still comin for yours will... one of these days....
ps, override, you need to watch behind you more often. ;)
I just finished playing.
[rant]I hate it when you're playing rush, and it's 2v2, and the attackers sit in the back and snipe and mortar until the buildings fall! I went 27-5 in the last game, but we lost because they sat and sniped. It's RUSH for a reason![/rant]
ANYWHO :whistler: I'm 1/2 way to lvl 32, with a 1.05 k/d ratio, with over 5k kills. I'm havin fun :D
I'm playing Left4Dead2 and as an achievement hunter I could really use some people to play with to tick a few hard to get boxes! Anyone else have this game? I love it but would be way more fun with the same people than randoms...
