I actually thought about doing some type of lighting behind them. however they are solid wheels. they "spokes" are not see through. so I would have to mount the light in the front and then they would be no different than mounting the lights in the green barrels I had before. I agree though i wish I could find a way to iluminate something back there. I have thought about redoing the area with the round hole mesh to have a translucent glow behind it similar to the bottom fake fuel resevoir. Not sure how to go about that now that its all finished. lol
Sorry to dissapoint you guys. I had bowling last night and we went to the bar afterwards so I didn't get much done last night. My goal is to be finished painting this weekend so, stay tuned...
well, after alot of work, here is where I'm at:
Final shots of the Kit bashing:
Then I started to mask stuff off and do some painting:
Some more masking and painting:
then after some weathering with the drybrush, here are the results:
What do you guys think?
I'm just about done with this part of the mod. I have to get all the wiring soldered up and in order, then I can permenantly mount the resevoir with the tubing and afterward do some final paint touchups. but overall construction is almost done. Now I have to start planning out the case for this...
I think it looks amazing man.Quote:

That looks so nice!!!!!!!! I love the attention to the details and can't wait to see what you do to the case. +Rep! :D Edit: ( I need to spread some rep around)
wow Great job (shoulda been featured IMO) can't wait to see the rest are you gonna do the whole case too?
Thats real nice, don't forget to give us some temps, see if it is effective as well as aesthetic.
And yes definatly should have been featured it's a really well made mod
top marks!
Do you want me to move this to the completed gallery, or do you want to do touch ups first?
Mate this is AWESOME, not just the paint job but the whole thing. It's amazing that all you started with was a cardboard tube.
Damn fine job mate.
I showed this to one of the guys I work with... he was so impressed he was speechless. Excellent work!
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Like I said, there is still a little bit to do. I have 1 more led to add, and install the tubing and wiring. My shipment witht he ATI Waterblock and wire sleeving should be comming Tuesday. So I will have to wait untill then.
Thanks again for everyone's support!!!!
Dan
 Well i dont know what to say, other then i'm not worthy, some awesome kitbashing going on thats for sure. Looks sweeeeeeeeet.
OK, last night I got some wiring done.
Here are some shots.
I installed everyting into the back housing and cut the wires to clean things up.
Then I soldered and heat shrinked them together.
Everything goes to 2 molex connectors. One for the fans, (12v) and one for the leds and glow wire. (5V) -I didn't use the same plug because I want to be able to remove the radiator and fan assembly without having to cut any wires.
And now the obligitory night shots with all the lights on. -Note, I still don't have the led for the resevoir installed as I"m waiting on my sleeving.
And here it is with the lights on, but still running.
My hope is that when the tubing is filled with blue liquid, that the led in the resevoir will light it up. right now I just cut a piece of tubing to show you what it will look like. That is all I can do untill my sleeving comes tomorrow. :( By the way, have I ever mentioned I HATE FEDEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
Later!
Mate this mod is awesome. Can't wait to see what the rest of your case will look like ;)

No need for an apology, Minty, I'm just glad you liked it.
I'm currently working on the case design. I'm trying to integrate some motorization into it. so I'm doing some research for servo controllers. the one I'm looking at controlls 18 servos so if that gives you any clue as to what I'm going to do... Once I get the design 90% done, I'll start a new worklog. I'm not sure what to call it though. I was thinking about "Project: Motorized Madness" But that doesn't fit the Old Industrial theme. So like I said, I"m stuck.
Renderman. I will be using servos in my mod as well. Doing some research myself but the information seems a bit scarce; especially for something as everyday as the servo. If your wouldn't mind sharing with me what you find, I'd real REALLY appreciate it. Anything you can share, parts, code, tutorials or links, anything would be excellent.
Thanks Renderman.
Again, great job on the turbine!!
It's just too damned bad you did this before the TGS contest, this thing would have killed.
Yeah, I kind of realized that too. Oh well, I have an idea for a window mod that is going to knock your guys socks off!!! -Ok, maybe not actually, but it might just inpress you.
I've ordered the case, a new SATA DVD burner with Lightscribe, a 240 Danger Den Black Ice Extreme II radiator (For the video Card). A Danger Den Water block for my ATI 1900 XTX.
I won't be able to start the new case untill after next week, I found out today that I'm going out of town to San Jose CA, Next tuesday till Saturday. So I won't get much done untill that weekend.
