I while back I found a tutorial that shows you how you can create a stealth drive and not have to rewire a new button placed somewhere else on the tower. They used a small square piece under the cover plate over the eject button. Here is the link ----------> Lego Stealth Drive.

Lego Stealth Drive.
Thats what I believe he was saying. To parallel the existing button or like I said to create a actuator through the panel.

Re: Cherry wood Case with water cooling
I took the day off and started out to build my new router table and fence. New miter trough.
A test form for the table lift.
Holes to hold the new router fence
It took a couple of hours to build this fence. Once it was built I used its accuracy to cut the miter trough.
That's my daughter helping out put the miter trough in place and yes it fits like a glove.
Once it was anchored it tested satisfactory.
Daylight began to leave us so all the work stopped, but not before we started to cut the new plate in.
The old router table was removed from the frame and the new was secured to it. Now I will take and complete the router lift insert and its a new router table. I will use the old one on the table saw for additional router setup. I did all this to clear my mind and get back to that I need to do and that is finish the computer case. I will be able to use this more accurate fence for better cuts and alignments.

Re: Cherry wood Case with water cooling
At little off subject here but I think you will see where I'm heading.
I took some time off to create a new tool for my wood working. It started off as a minor mod (much like our computer cases) and grew from there. Remember the start:
I wanted to have a little better control over my work so I started to design a new and better one.
I added the new router fence system from Incra. But the table just didn't thrill me. Sooooooooooo
I found an old table being thrown away with a 1 1/8" top. Now thats my kind of top when its all wood.
Created an addition to the table for storing routers and other options. Added some drawers for storage and dumped the 2nd table top for the newest.
Aligned the fence to the router insert.
Removed all the hardware, sanded the top and added a touch of finish and what did I get?
Now I can really have some fun here. I will be resuming my quest on my computer case.

Thank you. I will put it to good use. I still plan to put hinged wings on each side to be used as necessary but not take up space when stored, and another set of drawers beside the others. Never have enought storage.

Re: Cherry wood Case with water cooling
Not much of an update here. Been real busy with work and family. I had to go to the doctors for passing out. They ran an MRI, EEG and other tests in an effort to find out why. I have had my driving privileges suspended until they can determine what is going on. Needless to say my wife has a heart attack when I fire up any of my tools. I was able to do some work here to get the trim moving forward.
After the blanks were routed...
They were cut to size and attached.

I wish you luck man:(

Re: Cherry wood Case with water cooling
Damn dude, I hope you get over it. I suspect the Cardiologist will be looking for artial fibrillation with a portable heart monitor. The good news is that it's often easily treated with meds, the bad news is if it doesn't respond to meds, they may have to shock it periodically

Re: Cherry wood Case with water cooling
Hey TG I wish you the best of luck with your health. Its the most important thing. How are we going to live through your mod if you're in the hospital?
-
Re: Cherry wood Case with water cooling
I'll have my son finish it :) Not really but he has helped me. I will get it done I promise.

Re: Cherry wood Case with water cooling
I have picked out the stain that I will be using on this project. Its made by Mohawk and is very good. I will be filling in some of the grain using a grain filler. That will give it a fantastic sheen.

How many hours I spent watching New Yankee Workshop growing up. Everything he made always fit **perfectly** ... the first time. Definition of the Master Craftsman and workmanship to aspire to.
Then my dad would want me to help him build something and I'd be like, "somehow I don't think Norm would do it like this ... or swear so much..."
Good times. And good job to you!

At my job they gots many delta band saw and overall these saw are great,I never changed a motor on any of them, depending on your job, look at how many hp the motor had. This make difference between a great and a bad saw...
