Nice find. I'd seen a similar site somewhere before, but lost it.
For anyone who hasn't seen a map of the entire continent of Tamriel, that site has a nice display of it.
Yet WoW is still bigger than even all of Tamriel. lol crazy.
And the thing is, if they stay true to Warcraft lore there will be about 3-5 more expansions, if they make the world to true scale, there are about 4 more continents/areas to go lol.
I never actually realized how big Tamriel was, I guess that's because really the only Elder Scrolls game I played was Oblivion, I must install ES2 lol. They really should make an Elder Scrolls MMO, there is more than enough lore and area to give it a good shot, but if they make it crappy and photo realistic like WoW, I will definitely not be giving t a go lol.
As far as MMO's go, just keep it like it is now except let other players join the game with you. KISS! Keep it simple stupid!
I DO NOT want another WoW. Although, that would be pretty hard to stop from happening if they made TES into a MMO. Oh well, life sucking gaming it is, at least it'll kick ass.
...and PLEASE let people be able to create their own items that way we aren't stuck with just what the game developers have to offer. Make everyone into their own game developer. That'd be cool. Its kind of like enchanting really, except you get to alter the physical aesthetics too, within reason of course. If someone could make Nervershatter, I'd love to see what else could be made! Maybe Nervershatter armor. :p
Well, they've had the TES Construction set at least since TES III, IDK about before that, Morrowind was my first.
The problem with using that with an MMO would be that people would make crazy weapons/armor/etc that would completely unbalance the game. It would have to have some sort of screening process or something. Maybe an automated system that evaluates the attributes of the item and sets a price on it that the player can then buy in-game at a private store?
Case in point:
Just because I could, in Morrowind I used the TESCS to make a special ring. IIRC the enchantment was '1000 pts fire damage on 1000 ft on target' with a charge usage of 1. Yay for nuking towns from a distance :P
Post up some photos of your weapons collections in your armory I am curious to see what all of you have been doing
I found a super ultra-realistic nirnroot the other day. Man this game is well made! :p
lmao does it glow too?
Only when under direct sunlight and only if you have bloom enabled.
See: Life>Options>Eyeballs>Video>Bloom and then "check mark" the Bloom option with an extra-fine sharpie.
Alright, I can't for the life of me remember what to do next in the main quest. I've collected all of the books, talked to that one chick about them, and now it just says like I should investigate matters on my own further or something like that. There's no marker or person it tells me to see, just study the books for clues or something like that. Anyone know or remember what to do now?
You might have to actually read the books, and figure out where to go from that (ah, I miss Morrowind ;p ). Alternatively, get the quest title from your journal and search UESP for it.
lmao

No freaking way in a million years would I have remembered that or figured it out on my own. lol
See: Cracking the Code.
Anyone else figure it out or did you have to look it up to? Maybe I'm just too lazy to look through all the books and figure it out. lol
Edit: Gah!! I'm so freaking tired of Oblivion crashing my system with a BSoD. What other game does that?? Ridiculous. Now I have to start over from where I last saved, which was quite awhile ago. ><
I got up to where you had to be some where at a certain time to see this shadow to point you in the right direction lol, decided to do side quests then and never went back to the main quest haha.
I have never had a problem with Oblivion crashing my system, never happened, not once.
Same with my old system. But this one for some reason it just likes doing it just to piss me off I swear. lol
Google "Oblivion BSOD", there are a ton of results. None of them helpful at all though. The only thing I can think of is overheating, but I feel it and it doesn't feel hot at all, just warm. SO IDK. I just roll with it and pray it doesn't keep doing it. It seems to do it far less often when I have it windowed instead of full screen though.
Oh yeah! I remember that now! It took me so long to figure out what those headings meant.
I guess they did still put in a few puzzles, even if I don't remember them :D
That was one of my favorite parts of Morrowind; having to puzzle things out and find maps and notes and talk to people, in order to actually find stuff. It made for a much more immersive game, imo. Oblivion has a lot of features that make the game a lot easier, but they also take away a little of the spirit of the game, imo.
I had this problem back when I was using an ATI video card. IDK if it was the ATI driver, the card, XP, or some combination, but it would crash probably every few hours when I ran Oblivion. Just remember, F5 is your friend! :P
Yep, I constantly quick save lol, it's like a compulsion HAHAHAH, I do the same when I am doing my uni work, constantly ctrl+s lol.
Its funny. I save every single time I fast travel or open a door or do anything that prompts the loading screen as that's when it usually happens. The ONE time I decide to be lazy it BSOD's on me. lmao the game hates me pretty sure.
I have yet to get a bsod from it. I does stop responding when I close it some times but never a bsod. I started the main quest last night. And some how killed a guard with one accidental blow from a regular glass long sword while escorting the heir to the blades thing up in the mountains. Then got chased by another guard and he wound up getting into a fight with both the guys with me so I just loaded from my previous quick save and started over.
HAHA, I remember that escort mission, I was video encoding at the same time and lagged off the cliff lol, had to restart right from the start of the mission.
Hahaha, nice. Yeah, that's something you have to watch out for with quests that are designed to be done early in the game...even though the mobs level with you, the quest-related NPCs apparently don't....I found that out when I finally started the Fighters Guild quests around lvl 15... When I went to do the 'weapons delivery' quest, all three NPCs there that were supposed to "help" me clear the mine died within 15 seconds..
I dont think I have seen as many minotaurs in the whole game as I did in that single quest.
you guys suck. i wanna own this game :( lol I should just break down and go find it.
walmart has it for $19.95 all day long
We can get a pack in Oz, Bioshock and Oblivion for $40, seems like a good buy to me, they still sell individually for around $40-$50. I may go buy it just to keep Bioshock lol.
I loved all those guild missions, the Thieves guild was by far my favourite with the Dark Brotherhood a close second.
Yep :D, I might go and get it now haha, at least that way I can play a bit of Oblivion before I get my GOTY edition back.
hmm Barnes & Noble online has that bioshock/oblivion bundle for 30 bucks.
how much more worth it is the GOTY edition? (for oblivion that is :p)
The GOTY edition is worth it just for shivering isles
Shivering Isles is cool, but its not that cool or anything. I like the main game FAR better than Shivering Isles. Plus, there is so much to do in the main game that by the time you even want to go to SI it'll be months down the road and you'll be able to afford it.
I'd get the Bioshock and Oblivion bundle and just get Shivering Isles down the road sometime.

The only downside of the GOTY edition is that the copy of Nights of the Nine that you get with it is missing all previous add on areas (Bethesda sell them each for $5 for download), the retail version of Nights of the Nine comes with them slipstreamed on the disk.
Found a Fire Ring which protects 100% against fire. I can't wait to try this out in the Oblivion realms, maybe I can walk across lava now? I also found a necklace of blades which reflects damage 33% and boosts blade skill by 20 points. Score!
I'm also creating a chameleon enchant suit which when finished will give me 100% chameleon. Just for kicks and giggles. I think I'll make it out of glass armor.
where did you find the ring zeph?
I am looking for a copy of nights of the nine right now
found one on ebay. Its higher than I want to go with shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Elder-Scroll...d=p3286.c0.m14
I believe I found it on the body of one of the mythic dawn baddies at their shrine which is part of the main quest. I don't know if it was random, but since its so powerful it might not be. The necklace was found in the same area. Lots of good stuff in that part of the main quest, at least for me anyways. I have luck enchants when I go into areas like that. :)
Oblivion is a great game if you have the time. There is soo much to do in the game, I'm thinking about playing again. xD
play about 1.5 to 2 hours a day. I have the armory mod and spend a lot of my time dungeon clearing and collecting enchanted weapons and armor.
I have not had much time to play in the last few days. Well no time actually. Maybe I will get a free hour or 2 this weekend.
