lol... smart money is on me or x88x
Heheh, probably. Which one probably depends on how long it takes your MBB to get to you. According to my calculations, at my current rate, I should hit 1,000,000 around May 1st. Oh, and I'm only 510pts behind you now. ;) Looks like I'll catch you afterall. :D
for a little while... i guess if noone is gonna buy my loop i'll have to hook it back up on tuesday
ur on top btw... i shouldnt have gamed last night
I just realised my system hasn't been folding for the last day or two lol - strike 20k points heh - back up now.
As for you two with your competition - if Trace gets back into it, it might not be the two horse race to 1m you think it'll be :P
Don't get too confident heh
Heheh, I'll enjoy it while it lasts. :P
Hmm, is that why our numbers dropped ~30k points since the peak on Monday? Well, that and diluzio's i7.
For Trace, do you know if he would have anything folding besides the system in his profile (980X, dual 9800GTX+'s)? Unless he's upgraded his GPUs (I'm guessing likely, but I don't remember hearing about it), I think with my secondary folding system I'm comfortably ahead of what that rig can put out. ;)
BTW, I switched the SMP client in my main system to only use 5 cores, and it looks like it may have picked up another ~1,000 ppd average. :D
Idn what he was running but I heard (can't remember where) that it was getting 48k ppd so pretty sure it's a lot more than the system in his sig.
The points drop isn't all on my toes though - my system only puts out about 12k ppd so it'd take more than my PC to lose us 30k ppd
I was having some system stability issues so my system has been down for a few days while I tried to fix things. It folds about 50% of the day and generates 15-16k so that might help explain a portion of the decrease.
i also lost my i7, so add 15k for me, and i was gaming for a long time so maybe another 5k there... Sorry guys
Ah stuff happens lol - we're still climbing fast and there's still no-one catching us so we're still doing really well - there was no practical way we could maintain the rate of growth we had going - was cool while it lasted - now to maintain our level of production and grow it where we can with new peons (opps - did I say that out loud?)
So it appears as if you guys need some help! I'll be adding my render farm sometime this week, we will see how it does.
Started folding again this weekend, so + ~8k ppd here
Well we've dropped off a little from our peak of over 140k ppd but we're pretty much levelling out and still at over 100k ppd which is nothing to be taken lightly - there are MUCH bigger teams out there producing a lot less.
On a positive note, we're rapidly approaching that 1200 position which means we'll get individual stats on the OE page and those little sig banners will start to work, and there just MIGHT be something in the works to give a little something back to our folding team ;)
Grrr, ok, ok, I'll figure out why my secondary system turned itself off Monday morning...stupid old computer...grumblegrumble... :P
lol... guess who got a care package from evgaaaa
Now just waiting on the cooler from CJ to get back up to 40000ppd
It ships in 1 day so you should be back up by next week.
I'll help y'all out once I get my new PC built.
We have people producing tens of thousands of points a day, and some doing hundreds of points a month - they ALL help so anything anyone can do is always appreciated....
I think I'm going to have to contact EVGA about my graphics card. I keep getting system exception BSODs that point to DirectX and they only seem to happen when I fold (aka stress my card). I did some looking around and it seems that sometimes this is related to bad video ram, anyone know how to test that? The card is about 7 months old and has been lightly used until I started folding.
I know there are specific tests just to stress video ram. Major Geeks has one that I've used before, it's not bad.
Try this
Unfortunately, I have a large development project running across two machines that I only have two weeks to finish - I don't have the spare resources to fold!
Trying this out on my wife's computer. Couldn't get the GPU Tracker V.2 to download the clients so I'm using the individual GPU and CPU clients.
w00tz! :D
 is all I can say to that. :D
Congrats x88x! I have the i7 running and should be coming to get you soon. lol.... i went a little cable OCD this time though. so i'll have to get some pics up when my new cooler gets here
Ok, I finally got around to looking at my secondary system, and as I suspected, the PSU finally gave up the ghost. :( My trusty old SkyHawk 620W that has been with me since ~2006 (well, originally since 2005, but it died catastrophically and I didn't bother with an RMA for a long time), and powered many, many different iterations of my main computers...finally dead. :( Sounds like a capacitor might be leaking...it has that annoying whine when I turn it on, even though there are no moving parts.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention, the system is back up and running now, with my temperamental Tt Toughpower 700W. Here's hoping none of the 12V rails decide to give up on me again (they come and go on this guy...probably some funky capacitors, but I've never really bothered trying to figure out where the issue is).
Sorry to hear about your dead psu... got the i7 up and running, as well as the laptop and the phenom 2x4. Im at ~35k ppd now :D
1500!
And it's been only a month!
The one fact that still makes me smile every time, is when I look at the 5 threats and conquests and still see that there is absolutely NO-ONE anywhere on the PLANET catching us :P
Quad socket should be up and playing this week, we'll see what happens on my limited internet.
Just noticed - we now have a total of 5 contributors who have passed the 250,000 point mark - x88x, Dilluzio, Poochster, mDust and yours truly - pats on the back all round.
An extra pat for x88x who is the only person so far to hit the half-million :D
Didn't work, I guess there is a driver bug in the newer Nvidia drivers that won't allow it to run. I've contacted EVGA so I'll have to see what they say. I don't really want to have to pull the GTX 470 as it means I'll be stepping down to a GT 210 and will be a big hit to my points generated.
FYI, incase anyone else runs into this, I found out that the GPU clients fail when the Remote Desktop service is running. Fix for this if you want to have remote access to headless systems, is to disable Remote Desktop connections (ie, disable the service) and use VNC instead.
Not a problem I have unless I actually remotely log in, then everything goes to hell - but having the pc READY for a remote connection doesn't cause me any issues
I've also noticed that a client will occasionally be "stuck" and run for 2 or 3 hours without a change in percentage. all you have to do ti fix it is open task manager and kill the Folding processes. and delete the WU from the client that is stuck. (aka gpu0 or smp) then it'll pull a new WU.
ps. gained 10k on you last night x88x, only 40 left to go
Right now we're sitting at exactly 1500 according to the EO page - only 300 places left to go and we'll get those individual stats :D
Got it working on my Wife's PC. Ranked #20 for TBCS :D
