I am starting to do minor work on the wood case now. The doctors still do not know what was going on but I will be limited to the amount of work done with power tools

Damn good to see you TG. Can't believe they haven't figure this all out yet. When was the last time you passed out? Well,... start off small and work your way up. Mayeb there a way you can rig kill switches to your heavy equpiment so if you fall it will cut off?!?! Like on jet ski's when you fall off the motor stops. Just an idea. Get better mr promodder,...
Im sorry I have been away for so long. All my toys are ready to dust off the cob webs and get back to work (after such a long lay off since my last post). Only thing is I have to get a knee replaced now (lol), I just cant win. But this week end has started the testing of all my equipment in my wood shop.
Now where have you been young man, we have been worried sick! Sorry to hear about the knee but I'm glad to hear that you are otherwise okay and back on the scene.

Im moving slow but getting back is what the doctor ordered. Hope to show some new stuff real soon (after I check out all the equipment).

Welcome back TG! Missed you big guy! A ton of people have been asking about you man. We all missed you. Can't wait to see you back in the shop. Everything with you is ok? Tolerable? I have my own problems now too. I thinkI have a heart problem. Well,... we're not for sure but it runs in the family. Been having heavy hearts beats and fullness in my upper chest and neck/ throat. I refuse to give up my lifestyle of modding/designing/fabricating, going to the gym, etc... My doc has me on Toprol XL 25mg now. I'm cool though. I'm not worried or scared about it,... more or less it's pissing me off:) lol. anyways,... break out the broom and duster,... get that place cleaned up:)
Fantastic! You're back. Great to see you are getting back to work. See the great thing about knee injuries (if there is such a thing) is that you can still do a lot of work and scoot around on chairs with wheels.
+rep for the Return of TaleGunner
Big,... Johnson. LOL. Couldn't help myself. HA HA HA.
I had my own heart catherization done and the coronary arteries were clear. That was the good news. The MRI and CT scans don't tell anything conclusive. So... I got tired of just letting my equipment rust. I do this because I love wood working and computers.....Thanks for all your thoughts and I pray that everything turns out good for you.
Well thats good and bad news. Good because your ok according the to the tests,... bad because you still dont know whats going on. I'm with you man,.... you could be waiting a while trying to figure out whats wrong. You might never find out. No sense to wasting time then. You do what you like to do and that be that. If something happens something happens. Thats life. Same goes for me. I have schedule some tests now. This S@#$ is driving me nuts. But im still working:)
I have been looking at the this for the past couple and I cant help but be amazed at the attention to detail and the talent that you have. The case looks awesome and I look forward to seeing the finished article once you are back to full health hope you feel better soon.
I'm Back. It tooks surgery and some time off but I'm back! I really appreciate all the good wishes and I will be posting some pictures picking up where I left off.
I am glad to hear you are back on your feet.
I have followed your work, and look foward to seeing more.
Damn Good to hear you are doing well! I wondered how you were from time to time, so I am relieved to hear that things are hopefully back to normal for ya.
Looking forward to your progress!
Awesome. Welcome back! Are you back to where you need to be?
At long last I begin with some new toys for my shop.
I needed to update my drill press for more precision work.
I believe that I can get started on this thing again and finish pretty quick.:santa:
Nice to see you back mate, hope all is well with you. You have talent my friend, keep up the exellent work!

Like the others, I'm damn glad you're back on your feet! Now we get to see this thing finished!
Well believe it or not I worked on this project today. I started off working on my compound miter saw putting an aftermarket laser to aid accuracy and then had time to work on my case. I will post pictures later as its 9:34 pm and I’m sweaty and stinky and tired (mostly tired). But I made plugs to cover the old location of the hinges because I was having some issues with them. After plugging the holes I redrilled the hinges and now I’m satisfied with the results. I put the door back on and tested it and all is good. Thanks to everyone that was concerned about my health. I'm doing great and back to 85% of my old self.
Very nice table saw btw we have one of those where i work very nice looking great on the mod hope to see some updates if nothing happens
how's it comin? I cant wait to see!!
Believe it or not Road Runner has finally fixed the problem. I could not log back onto the forum for over a year. I have worked with Paul and Road Runner and it all came down to Road Runner. I'M BACK. I will be showing some of the new and improved drawings and progress. Unforunately for me I lost my job due to downsizing and now have a new purpose in life, to find employment.
Welcome back!
Sorry to hear about your job, same thing happened to me just before Christmas, but there's always work out there! :D
welcome back mate
Thank god this thread is going to be back up and running soon. I hate seeing such great work being unfinished. Sorry to hear about your job there TG, but no matter how bad the economy gets, I always like to think optimistically. I think there will be always be work out there for honest hardworkers, Stick in there!
Welcome back
Welcome back fella... Im sure with your creative talent your going to have no problem finding a new job.
/\ yeah agreed that is so true, good luck with the job hunt
Gorgeous woodwork. Very professional looking.
I really have restarted finishing the system. I took time to seal the wood and tung oil the water pump housing. Then I took a old PS and cut the connector to the motherboard off. I needed to create the on/off circuitry and latch circuit that will turn on and off with the main system. The first picture to share is the after the sanding sealer on the wood.
The wood has a beautiful natural hue to it. No stain here just natural wood.
The front has a really fantastic grain.
Next I took time to add the PS for fitting only. I wanted to make sure of the wiring for the pump, fans and turn on circuitry.
The layout is exactly what I wanted here. I then disassembled the PS and spray painted it black. In more pictures I will show the PS disassembled and the paint job for the unit.
The power supply came was super easy to disassemble as you can see in the picture. That made my job so very easy. Once I took it apart, the painting was easy. Remember that this is just an old 300 watt PS that will supply power to the water cooling. This allows me to do maintenance on the water cooling section without having to power up the computer. A bypass switch will allow me to energize the water pump to test the system and perform maintenance on the system.
Well the only thing to do now is watch the paint dry. Hummmmm
As for my job, no such luck yet. I sometimes wonder why a company would give up experience of 20 years. I know that its easier for to cut the higher paid employees and put someone that makes a whole lot less in their place but the experience is lost. It takes a long time to make up all that lost education. I continue to look for employment. :whistler:
I just finished a mock up of the water pump system. Checking for leaks and making sure to get the air bubbles out of the lines. Everything worked perfectly without leaks (kinda the most important:banana:)
Here you see the water block for the CPU just hanging outside the case.
Here is a view into the water pump housing. Things are moving forward and since the long time away from the project. The relay is used to turn on the power supply for the water pump when the main system is turned on. I plan to add some LED's in the water pump and case to add some flare to the system.
WOOT!!! TaleGunner is BACK!!
Great to see you working on the mod again. Beautiful work as usual!
Thanks Override it's great to be back. Being ill and without a job takes its toll.
I let the system run last night to check for leaks and run out any air bubbles. Air will make noise in the system (for you sailors out there cavitate). It’s now quite and water tight. Next step is to finish the main computer case. I disassembled the case from the water pump last night to see the movement of the water bubbles.
After I get the case sealed with the sanding sealer, tung oiled and waxed, I will have to break down this computer to put in into the case. Good thing for me that I have 4 other computers here that I will be able to post updates and pics with. I know that some (not all) have only the one computer and have to take it down to finish the mod. The 5.25", and the 3.5" racks will be painted black. The paint takes so long to dry. I guess I'm not very patient these days.
Just a simple note here. If you guys see a image that does not load please drop me a line. I just finished going through all the pages and made sure that the images that were supposed to load did. I found some images that I did not post that were on my log and deleted them off.
