Not really an update,... more like a concept. Here is what I have planned for my buttons.
As you can see the buttons will be flush with the outer most surface. The buttons in the diagram are 1-way buttons. These will be used mostly for the VFD also fo rthe power on for the computer. 2-way switches will use the same design but I have a feeling there will need to be some tweaking. The bottom drawing that I commented on,... with the 2 bars passing through the button backing,... this is something I might have to do to keep the buttons from being pushed inside the computer. Something like it,... not saying I will be doing that. Point is, something might have to be done. I need some 2-way switches that have very little switch travel. Anyone reccomend anything? I will be looking tonight while at work. Also,... Once I am done wokring on the pump tower, it will be time to do some more cutting up of the case itself. That middle level floor thing,... something has to be done with it. I have several ideas. If you are lucky I might do some drawing and show you guyz what I have planned. But if I am absolutely sure of what I am going to do I wont. I want to surprise you guyz. Also,... in a desperate attempt to get my gurl into modding,... she will be helping me tomorrow. She is going to start making the compters name. I am kind of nervous about it,... I am the kind of person where it's not done right unless I do it so I will be watching closely. Anyways,... Till then.
i cant see the pic :(
It's fixed.Quote:

Nice concept art! :)
You were working at a hospital? Isn't there sick people there? "Sorry mam' but were trying to find the guy who is going to help you with that broken leg of yours. He was last seen with a pencil and a scetching book." ;)
Realy nice work man. Learned alot from it and has been inspierd!
(Hadn't seen the abbreviation VFD before, so I googeld it:
"VFD: Therapeutic feed additive which can only be purchased and used in feed with a veterinarian's prescription"
"VFD: Variable Frequency Drive. The drives for the Bottle Washer and the Tunnel Pasteurizer are all of this type."
But I found the right wone. ;)
Ok,... last night during my down time at work I had done alot of thinking. With all of this thinking I had made up my mind. I now know what I have to do. This is something that I haven't really taken into consideration before because of the fact that it might be a slight pain in the arse to do. I don't quite know for sure yet. But what I do know is that once I'm done,... it's going to be the coolest thing ever and that won't regret it!!! I decided to,...
... switch to Gieco, because they can save me 15% or more on my car insurance :D.
You just lost cool points there, mocking us all like that, cool points arn't like candy you know, they don't grow on trees.. you can't just throw them away.. that's littering
Mocking you? Dude everything before the gieco thing was true. I guess I will have to make it up then. Hmmm,... it was suppose to be funny:(
and it was. ;)
Can't wait to get more pics and progress.... :D...so nervous... btw, it took me two days to read this ... darn... you are good, and the mod........ i'm doing something too, but i have no camera... i like tribal's work and the doom case... i'm thinking of doing something similar...and in a couple of eons, maybe i'll be as good as u are ^_^
this is a concept design i made... 3dmax style... only :(... sorry for the commercial look.. pls, if anybody has any opinions... write :)

GAWD I LOVE LISTEN TO SOME GOOD TECHNO/ TRANCE WHILE WORKING ON MY COMPUTER!!! It's werid but it helps me think and the ideas flow easier throughout my little brain :silly:. Anyone listen to digitallyimported.com? I love them. Anyways, this is an update!!! It's am early update atleast for me. I dont know how much more I will get done today so this is why I am updating now. SO,... I needed a change of scenery so I decided tocut up some more of my case instead of finidhing the pump tower. Now,... that I cut my case up I will be starting the pump tower now. TO THE PICS!!!
Oh my? Why is my second level floor thing taped off? Hmmmm,....
Goodness,... drilling out rivets? I wonder,...
I KNEW IT! HA! HELL YEAH! WHOOOOOO!
Some stuff I removed from the case. I told you guyz I did some thinking and this is one of the many things I have figured out. I didnt like that I was going to have to pass the hoses and wires through the floor through holes so I just flat out got rid of it. I had some ideas to make the passing of the hoses and wires through the floor look good but I wasn't 100% about it.
Question,... thi sever happen to you? Thi sthing flew off like a hub cap that just flew of a tire. It was spinning around like crazy!
Here something for you guyz to learn. I used this thin sheet of metall inbetween the mobo tray and whats left of the floor. This will prevent me from filing away the mobo tray while filing away at the the floor. Worked great. I have done this before.
Done.
I did this to open up the area in front of the HDD's and the PSU area. You know what,... I'm going to tell you guyz now. There are going to be more shields. Lots more. Theres most likely going ot be two for each HDD rack. The PSU is going to have like,... 4 - 6 of them? Not sure yet. Plus it whill have a panel ontop where all the hose will pass through. The MOBO will have it's own shileds too. The shields will be the equivalent of a mobo cover. Except all my shields will be adjustable so your can reposition them if I should get another mobo or install some more PCU cards, whatever. There might be another shield or shields covering whats inside the 5.25" bay above the drives. Will see. Oh,... there might be some kind of cover for the back of the HDDs too. Let me know what you think? OH,... LOL. Once more thing. I have changed my plans for the front of the computer. Instead of just installing the UV green panels behind the tinted. Theres one more thing going in there first. A thin sheet of aluminum with the usual suqares and grooves. There will be one for ecah panel I put in there. They will all be different. They will also be designed in a way so you can tell its a panel instead of just some glowing boxes and grooves. Now you guyz know what I have planned for you all. STAY TUNED!!!! MUH HA HA HA HA HA!!!
dude youre like a last-minute thinker!! u like to keep us on our feet about your mods dont you? anyways, i'm just itching for the next update!
Can you give us a raw estimate of how much you have spent on this mod so far? It seems like it would be a heck of a lot on the amount of work you've done. You should probably think about modding professionally... you could definitley make some dough.
Man, I can't wait.
You're a visionary. You seriously should consider doing this professionally.
I would estimate it to be aruond $5 - 6000 maybe more? I would love to do this professionally. We'll see when this is all done:)
wow! pretty cool!
I applaude you. Sooo... Since you switched to geico does that mean all that money saved will be spent on this rig? :P
Anyways sorry If i didnt catch this but I havent been able to follow this for the last few weeks, cuz im having to deal with my parents divorce(i dont mind the divorce but my PARENTS are putting me thru hell cuz i have to be the mediator). But anyways do you have an ETA for completion?
By the end of the year. Thats definate. Sorry about the divorce bro. My parents divorced when I was alot younger. Thank god I was old enough to realize why.
Its all good in a month or two im sure everythings going to cool off. Plus my mom got an apt. With a pool and a gym! :P
Cant wait till its done I lvoe the work I think I might base a mod off this My creativity has been sucked from me in the las tmonth or so and i dont want to buil da scratch computer nemore lol :)
Todays update,...
Time to work on the pump tower. I need to do some cutting with the scroll saw but the tower is kinda to tall for it. So I'll cut from the inside. I need to raise it a bit to clear the top saw arm. I clamped these boards to the saw table. I'm going to cut just enough to get the jig saw blade in there. I cant see the designs from this side of the tower. I am basically going to cut away the gap between the holes.
After scroll and jig sawing. I filed away and this is what I got. It's a start.
I perfrom the same thing for the rest of the stuff on this side of the tower. It needs something else though.
Ahh, thats better. I decided to add a big hole. LOL. It had to be somewhat bigger then the other holes/ grooves to even it out a bit.
Now, real quick,... tell me what you think of this. Instead of using grommits I thought I would use this foam. The reason being,... it's a hell of alot cheaper, and it doesnt take up as much space as a grommit would. This means I could put the hoses closer together. I know whether or not I will use this idea, I'm just curious as to what you guyz think about it.
Heres a big jump. I kinda forgot to take pictures:( But it's stuff you already seen me do. Recognize the window? Its the same window I used in the LED cover. I have to incorperate that window somewhere else. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity. Why? Don't you think it would be sweet with the UV blue coolant tube lit up over that what will be a UV green lit up window? I think it's gonna look sweet! The two colors ontop of each other. Hell yeah.
See the three holes? The big one is for a chrome shower hose which will power the radiator housing. The two smaller ones are for therad housings LED wires.
Pump tower and LED cover. GAWD,... it was so much easier this time cutting the window. Thanks to the scroll saw.
The window isn't done as you can see. It needs some filing. I also have some more designs to draw out and cut. I will finish it tomorrow and then move on to something else. I'm going to sleep now,... have to go to work in a couple of hours. Goodnight :tired:.
I like ur work with the right tools ur quite an artist. As for the foam tho I dont think you're happy with it or you wouldnt have asked out opinion. Since you are moddign a case for asthenics I say gromets are far more appealing to the eye.
Also is that conduit(is that right?) or what I kno that orac 3 used shower hose but that stuff looks shiney in the pictures..doesnt look like shower hose and yea Id just liek to know what you're using id like to get some :)
I am actually for the foam. But it's one of those IFFY things, you know? The only reason it's IFFY is because of the split. STARBUCK mentioned the use of heatshrink over the foam. I am going to do that. About the grommits,... if you check, the largeer the ID is the larger the OD is. The grommits I would need have total diameter thats huge! I need these hoses close together. Also,... for as many as I need, it would cost a pretty penny. I still need like a ton of RCA plugs and jacks, the metal ones. I also need switches, and wire. Oh and the shower hose I have is shower hose. Pretty much the same as what was used in the ORAC3. It's like $10 for one shower hose, which is like 3+ feet? Maybe 4.
that's the shower hose! yeahh!! LOL. nice cut you got there dude!
Alright gosh im lucking out in every turn i take today i feel so miniscual im not used to having so many peopel tell me im wrong :P. Are you using the metal rca jacks as inspired by orac 3 as well?
Yup. Aaaand I am using the aqua tubing to sleeve my wires along with the Uv sleeving.
Orac3 is a wonderful case to model yours after its my all time favorite case! With you crasftemanship im sure ull pull of the same effects the guy who modded that case did :)
Ok,... I finished he pump tower, that is I cut out all the designs nd saned off all my marks. I just have to sand her down to that dust finish. Here are the pics,...
I skipped all the cutting and marking because once again you guyz seen it already. The only thing I have to say is,... DAMN THATS ALOT OF FILING!!! Crap.
Sorry legos, didnt get a chance to finish your windows. They are first on my list tomorrow. Soon as I am done with that I will finish sanding the tower and then start making the UV insides for all the covers.
Have to say.. Bravo Tribal! I can't wait to get on the computer everyday to see if there's an update on your mod. I've got a hell of an idea in my head but no $$ to do it with. I'm a former Marine, and I'll leave it at that. If I ever get around to it, I'll post my log here.
first, who's legos?
second, NOICE pump tower!! i'm still waiting everyday for the grand finale...
Are you doing green UV inside the pump tower? If so, it might be a bit too much of the green, you will lose definition. You may want to go with a blue or red UV on the tower, to help differentiate the parts.
Just my $.02, of course.
Hes another modder over at gruntville.com. Remember that I post there first then copy to all the othjer forums. About the UV green being to much behind the tower,...we'll see what happens. I dont think it will but you neer know.Quote:

Damn,... I am just now posting my update. Anyways,...
I finished legos windows for his rad box. These little buggers are perfect.I'll hate to see them go.
I sanded the tower don to it's dust finish. I dont know if its the light or what but it lokos like I have to do a bit more sanding on the side there.
Time to make to UV green insides. I just got down cutting a 7" wide piece off.
The piece that will go inside the tower.
I rounded the edges to save time from doing it later by hand. I will still have to round them some more but atleast the most of it is done already. I round the edges for a better fit and so that you cant see glowing edges around the object the UV green is behind.
I needed a bending surface so I decided to bend this sheet metal over the edge of the table. After I was done I realized that it wasnt long enough for the piece I was bending. I can see still use it for bending other pieces. I just kept hitting it with a hammer. I clamped a board to the top of the sheet to keep it straight and to keep the metal from bowing up.
Well,... seeing that I cant use the sheet metal I have no choice but to use the edge of the table. Which is fine. Here I am sanding down the table so it's smooth and clean. This orbital sander has to be one of my favorite tools. It's does such a good job!
Look how clean and smooth!
A closer look.
Closer.
Another sh,... what the?
*KACHING*
SO,................ you think having my balls cut off is funny ehhhhhh? Well, I'm going to cut yours off!
SpongeBob, chill out. I didnt think is was THAT funny.
Nooooooooooooooo,... you thought it was funny! Off with your balls!
Shi,...
I'll stop him! There will be no cutting off of any balls other then your own!
RRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
*SWISH*
*THUD!*
AaAaaAAAa,... man.
WAAAAAAAAAAA!!! You are no match for my skills in fung fu wada yada whatever. time,... to,.... DIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!
RRRRR!
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
*WHHAAAAMM!!!!*
WAAAAaaaAAAAAaAAAAAAAaaaaAA!
WAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
HO SHI!!!! PLANKTON!!!! SPONGEBOB WHATDAFU!!!!!!!!!!
Plankton? PLANKTON!
Dude,... you friggin nailed him to my newly sanded table you idiot!!
DAMNIT!!! How do I get him off! Get him off! I cant believe hes dead!!! You BASTARD!!!
Here I scratched a line which I will use to line up the piece with the table so my bend is straight. I will be sanding these inner pieces so the scrathced line doesnt really matter.
I came across a problem after I bent the piece. I didnt take any pics after the last one I showed you because of this. I will show you the problem when I get home and how I plan on solving this little problem. I came up with a solution while taking a crap on the toilette:) When you are stuck on something and cant figure it out,... go take a ****:) Peace.
hahahahah
Now isn't the problem you have, the reason you would use a piece of metal to bend the plexi??
Or was it the ex-lax cookies?
ok... internet violence! yeah! i love the show! "what will happen next to our hero?!" hihi... and the philosophy.. i strictly abide to that... i also solve problems like that... i used to anyway, when i did maths in school :))
ive been lurking for long enough!!! Time to come out :p
Tribal, i think im in love with u and ur ideas, i stumbled across this site a little while ago and have been reading and following this new venture of yours, and im blown away... infact, im blown away by everyones creations on here so far.
The thing is, i havent been high into computers and stuff, except for the last couple of years, so i probably dont know half the stuff you guys do, but im learning rapidly. I would love to be just a fraction as talented as you tribal... that would make my day :D
Anyhoo... one day soon, (Next year or so) i will be getting one of my ultimate dream cars (Im more of a car fanatic than a computer fanatic), but what i will be hoping to do is amalgamate the 2.... Fast & the Furious meets Best Case Scenario!!!! Like i say, if i can become even a fraction as talented as you Tribal, im laughing :) it should be fun, and i will log it all right here.
PS. I will more than likely also be asking you guys for a lot of advice and help too ;)
PPS. Cant wait for further updates of this awesome project.... You are truly an inspiration.
Thanks dude:) What kinda of car you getting? My ULLLLLTIMATE car is a Porsche 951:) GAWD I LOVE THAT CAR.Quote:
