Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
Just for ****s and giggles, say I had a board that was 12x16 (in other words, larger than EATX/HPTX) and I needed a case to put it in with a power supply and watercooling. Anyone got any ideas at all? it's longer than tall, and the cards are at the top, not the bottom, as well. I understand I'm gonna be doing fab, it's how much total I need to do.
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
Hmmm, I can't seem to find it but there was a post about it here on the forums simply because of how absolutely massive the case was. I mean it was FREAKING HUGE. I can't seem to be able to find it though.
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
My server sits in a Lian Li 343B - I think mountain mods cubes are SLIGHTLY bigger but I think its about the biggest mainstream retail case out there - course there's always Thermatakes Mozart TX which is a monster too if you can find one that is...
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
For sick fun, just how long is an RV02?
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
Take a look at the Silverstone TJ11. We saw one at CES and WOW.
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
I seem to remember that Zalman case we saw in the iBuyPower booth being quite large as well. Anyone remember the model number?
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
I worked on a TJ07 and was seriously disappointed. No screw holes lined up, parts were poorly made, sharp edges everywhere. Their steel cases are actually better.
It's really sad that the case will cost more than the board, and possibly board+procs. All four.
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
Well, unless you can find the server case that was originally made for it, I'm guessing you'll probably end up having to fab a custom MBB tray at the very least. Then you'll probably also have to fab a custom IO/PCI panel as well, since they're the reverse of normal... I think you're probably better off getting a Mountain Mods or DD case as a start if you don't want to do a full custom build. Plenty of space, and no need to worry about having to make strange modifications to fit a part in.
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
just to add on to what x88x said. DD and mountain mods both could make you a custom i/o shield if you give them the dimensions.
Re: Anyone know of any MASSIVE cases?
I always thought the 800D was pretty damn big. There's a lot of Huge Lian Li's too
