Got my HD's today am I supposed to connect sata power and molex or just sata power connector?
One or the other. Not both.
thx dude +rep for the speedy response
It wasn't that speedy, but thanks!
30 seconds is faster!
I just opened up a paradox here
The dreaded black molex? You've doomed us all! Doomed I say! Doooooooomed!
It's a SATA power connector made by Molex.
thats what i was going to say, its like how kleenex is a brand but thats what all brands get called.
Meh, it looked like a Molex up close, lol.
It is a Molex, it's just a SATA molex. Paradox!
Ohh, lol. I'm just hungry and my bs (blood sugar) is going to hell. Damnit mom! When's dinner ready already! Oh wait... she can't hear text. Meh.
Molex.Com They make all kinds of connectors.
I wish they would come up with a replacement for those crappy white 4 pins.
a connecor like USB wold be goo
Molex serves OEMs in industries that include automotive, business equipment, consumer products, industrial equipment, premises wiring and telecommunications. They offer more than 100,000 products to customers through direct sales and distributors.
Molex originated a large variety of connector types, but only one is commonly used in microcomputers, and thus known unambiguously as a "Molex connector" in that context. That connector type is the one pictured, which is used for power connections for disk drives and other computer components. An AT or ATX standard power supply normally has multiple connectors of this type.
The company began by making flowerpots out of an industrial byproduct plastic called Molex. Later they made connectors for General Electric and other appliance manufacturers out of the same plastic. Most recently Molex acquired Woodhead Industries in the largest acquisition in its history.
Molex seems to make a whole lot more than that now though. You can even buy just a CPU socket from them,
we (in canada, or me, my family & friends anyway) just call it a kleenex. another example is body filler in us gets called bondo.
Is this gonna turn into a thread full of examples?
If so...
Can I have a go?
Hoover - Vacuum Cleaner.
JCB - Anything tractor like with a scoopy on the back and a scoopy on the front.

A weed whacker?

wow the 2nd post answered my question and you guys are still going
Apologies for what I appear to have started here... ;) Btw, what is a 'Weed Whacker'? Have an idea in my head but guessing it's not someone who likes a bit too much of the old Ganga?
It's basically a long rod with a motor at one end, a throttle in the middle, and a spinning disk deal at the other end that has some sort of string or cord that spins really fast to cut weeds with. WTF am I doing?

I'm still not sure where I got that name from either... probably long time ago, lol.
