yay more photos.. ya i know primer isnt very exciting... so now for something completely diffrent!!
yep... red paint.
ok so the front panel and inside are done painting. time to assemble them
there must be some more things i can paint.
ok so here is the front panel installed onto the frame
if it wernt for the wires you wouldent even know the power supply is there. seems to blend in nicely
now lets install some other devices
things seem to be blending in quite nicely
wow... its so red! lol. looks good so far. liked the very top pic of the swirl.
ok time to move away from painting for a while and work on some of the fun stuff
lets start cutting the window
measuring out my plex
i have my marks set and the plex is seccured to the back of the panel. were ready for drilling now.
see... i said its seccured. :)
because i drilled them both at the same time i know the holes will match up perfectly
dont forget to mark wich end is up
Looking good.
Very vibrant red.
dont worry i havent abandon this project. just some things to sort out with the panel that made it look like junk after the paint job. resanding it and repainting it so it looks good enough to be on this forum. :-)
Awesome. +rep
Random fact: Red and Black combined make for the most eye catching combination.
I like where you're going with this! +rep and /subscribe!
yay i finished painting the side panel. i have installed the plexi but find that it needs a wash. must have had some crap on my hands when i put it on. there is only one more part to be installed. will post photo's of this when i get home.
its interesting working on 2 mods at the same time. seems that when you are waiting for parts for one you can just work on the other. i think i would not mind working on 2 at the same time again.
after some paint the side panel looks like this
once in installed the plexiglass on the panel and put it togeather with the frame
for this one i really messed with the exposure time on the camera. its not really quite this orange but i thought it was an interesting pic so here ya go
Nice project, love the paint and the nice blend of red and black. Any case feet possibly?
there are feet on it just not illuminated ones.
Yeh Illuminated might look good.
i like your couch...oh and the project looks good too.
I like the way you painted your case. I think ill do mine the same. Whey you put it together what did you use? rivets or bolts?
looks good. keep it up
nice job man. The light looks pretty sweet.
I added a header, let me know if that one suits you.
i uesd very small socket button head bolts. they look like rivots and are small and give a nice look.
header looks good to me. thanks again for your efforts. i know making headers and moving projects all over the boards takes up alot of your time.
artists are always the worst critics of their own work.
how about this direction?
oh ya that looks fantastic
this look alright? (don't worry, I'll delete all the other posts so it doesn't clutter up your worklog)
either is fine really. your working far too hard on this dude. they all look great!
No problem sir, customer satisfaction is our priority. Now there is the matter of the bill... :yellow_green:
Just a little thing that i would do with this case.....
Cut the parts of the swirl that connect the swirl itself to the rest of the panel so it isnt static.
Take any fan, usually cpu, and remove the outer caseing, along with the fan blades leaving you a 360 degrees rotating cylinder.
Stick, somehow, the once fan, cpu cylinder to the swirl....
Plug the fan in and then it would swirl
Of course i would link it to a fan controller, otherwise it will be to quick to work out what is going on.
And there you go a rotating swirl window.
Of course keep ur hands out of the way of it, or you may end up hand less...dont want that now do we :P
