Some Rig I've Been Working On
I'll post pics shortly. It's the one I'm currently on. lol. :] It started out as a Raidmax Sagittarius case with a bunch of older hardware, then went to the Phenom X3, and just now got the HD 4870 and 22" monitor to go with it, as well as the Philips 38 watt 2.1 system.

38 watts?
lol
i Got onkyo tx-sr606 750W not including the two subs.
I'm not even going to talk about those.
But Onkyos carry Multi in and its the only brand i know of (sub 1,000's of $$) that has that feature. Basicly allows you to plug all the jacks from a pc sound card straight into the back of the stereo. It's 8 cables and it's hard finding 6-10ft with adapters that will allow you to fit 4 headphone jacks together that close. But it'll do a PCM surround sound for you or Pro logic II or Pro Logic EX or Direct 7.1 which i think sounds the best. If you've got a board with optical and coaxial outputs then you can run those two. I'm not sure what the break out box does on some sound blasters. I've heard it's needed to get Dolby Digital and DTS out of them, but that was awhile ago. So far though i've been able to get dolby digtal and DTS off a few games and every DVD i watch. Really holy crap the audio quality is Great at high volumes Vs a Mp3 player or CD player hooked upto it. I suppose just because its a higher Ma you get less distortion. But it seems that theres absoultely no Hiss (as long as you dont have fans going near your sound card or power cables) even at 11. and the bass is Crisper and more thunderous?
I highly recommend a full size A/V receiver with book shelf or floor standing speakers as computer speakers.
It's just something not even the most 1337 of "made for computers" speakers can touch.
My Bass has been So intense My mouse was moving across the screen And you could see magnetic waves pulsing through my CRT monitor flowing with the bass. Loud enough for my chick to come in the room screaming and I Didn't hear her for a solid 10 seconds.
Sometimes I fear for my HDD's.
[edit]
Makes a fat 250$ electric bill every month though.

@ Twigsoffurry: Nice E-Penis. I used to have the 520 watt JVC system as just my center/sub, but then i took it out because it was taking up too much room. Also, I would recommend in investing in an LCD rather than a large array of audio components, and stop telling me what I should buy for my own rig. Thank you.
Anyways, I'm posting pics as soon as I get home. Between dealing with having seizures, ER visits, and taking some medicine with an abusively long name, and visiting dad for New Year's, I haven't had much time.
Oh, and happy New Year's.

Wooh...I think you hit a nerve Twigsoffury...It's like I stumbled in on a family argument...

Wow, that was quite rude!
Re: Some Rig I've Been Working On
i used to have a proper sub and floor standing speakers setup, beat the crap out of any other pc speaker setup i've seen. But had to get rid of them due to space contraints.
I still have my little warfdale speakers (250w RMS each) but don't have an amp anymore, if i get the space i would like to use just them speakers, no need for anything else, there bloddy good, best speakers i have ever had, cost me £150 for the pair ($300 at the time)
