What does TBCS drive?
Be sure to black out license plates, per the TBCS rules.
I'll start:
my 1985 Volvo 245DL ****beater of a car, it 'runs'. paint is all horrible on the top, rear springs are shot, it catches on fire going uphill (no joke, i popped the hood after going up a local mountain road and smoke was coming out) and I can't outrun a '94 toyota corolla, but it's loud, proud and damnit, it's mine!
For the Volvo/Car geeks that will understand this, some technical stuff:
B230F, AW70 (my OD works! kinda), LH2.2, though it does have a 21mm front sway bar as opposed to the 19mm so turn-in is a little neater, but high profile tyres pretty much kill that.

How about my 93 Corolla? Most of the paint on the roof is gone, paint on the hood is about half gone. Front left bearings are shot so it makes a horrific grinding sound. But I have 14" rims and new wiper blades!
It's going to be my summer project since I work off hours now. Gonna paint it, replace the front speakers, all that good stuff... oh and get the bearing fixed!:lick:
It's got 182k miles on it and I'm shooting for 250 before I replace it. It's been in the family since 93, when my Dad bought it.
I'll put up a pic soon.

Re: What does TBCS drive?
1989 Chrysler Lebaron. Hardtop, 2.5L turbo. Painted faded down to the primer on the roof and hood. Did have a kick arse stereo till a coupa days ago, when my friendly neighborhood chickenhead decided to relieve me of said stereo. So now I have a hole in my dash to mach the whole in my heart. I was gonna fix it up, cause it has potential, but now I figure, why?

Re: What does TBCS drive?
91 Ford Probe GL. I prefer imports but eh, i wanted a five speed coup and this was what i could afford. Made by Mazda anyway.
This is Emilia
~151,600 miles on it, purchased it at 140,sumthin. Runs well enough i suppose.
If i can get the hole in the body patched up I might put a lil bit of money in to her but not to much.

2001 Ford Focus Zetec SE edition, 1.6 Automatic, 51k miles on clock (Extremely low)

Re: What does TBCS drive?
97 Dodge Dakota. 80k Miles. Still runs and looks like a champ!!!

Re: What does TBCS drive?
2003 Dodge SRT-4
Had since 04, so it's been a while. Funny how I stopped caring what I drove once I had my surgery. Things like that used to seem so important, not so much now.
Old pic, but don't have a recent one.

Re: What does TBCS drive?
I don't have a photo of the camaro but I hope an old video will work. She is a little meaner now with a blown 383 and some 05 corvette z06 wheels.

I also drive a Chevy silverado 2500 HD.
and will soon be riding on one of these. Kawasaki Ninja 650R

Re: What does TBCS drive?
2006 Ford Escape XLT.
Duratec V6, AWD, loaded except for leather and sunroof.. I wanted neither of those things anyways, so win/win. :)
Currently approaching 95,000km on it.. I need to drive less.
I also have a 91 Chevy S10, which I've lovingly named "Tetanus" for reasons very obvious. 5 spd, manual steering, no power windows, no power locks, no power period. Great on fuel, and with a muffler, it's actually ok to drive. :) Cheaper for my work commute, and it leaves my wife with a vehicle during the day in case she needs to go anywhere. :D

Re: What does TBCS drive?
I've gotten so used to driving my volvo that when I drive my mum's V6 escape, it's like a freaking rocket ship :D

Re: What does TBCS drive?
yay for a 2004 4 door gold cavalier. at least its loaded, but ill always miss my old 1994 mazda mx-6 ls v6 5spd. Felt like sitting in a cockpit wrapped with leather everywhere, and buttons for everything. There is not a car on earth (realistically priced anyway) that i would rather have again.

Re: What does TBCS drive?
1995 Integra RS, Manual. Dents abound. Needs new trans fluid (does anyone know where to get GM syncromesh?)
Air con doesn't work. It's still quick and fun to drive.

I would talk to your local Chevy dealer, but it will be somewhere around $10 a quart. (My parents 99 Cavalier used it if I remember right)
Back to the rides: 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade. I'll get some pics can't find any right now for some reason. The 4 wheel drive on the fly really has saved me and some people I pulled out of the snow the past 3 winters.

Re: What does TBCS drive?
@Quakken: Just recharge the AC or do an AC delete (it means you will have no AC at all, but that sucks less power and weighs less than a non-working AC).
Also, syncromesh, try a local auto parts store before going to a GM dealership.
huzzah being able to get all my fluids at a gas station, easily and for cheap: gas, oil, DOT 4 brake fluid, ATF Type F, Antifreeze/Coolant, that blue crap you use for your windshield sprayer.
well, not the DOT 4, but if it gets too bad, I can always use the E-brake (or go without power brakes) until I can make it to the auto parts store. But everything else I can get off that little shelf of overpriced auto fluids that gas stations keep for those who can't find the auto parts stores or because it's midnight and your car just broke.

a Holden/Vauxhall 2001 Vectra V6 2.6L

Re: What does TBCS drive?
2005 Dodge Durango. I'll get some pics as soon as I get it washed, which will probably be next week. Mother Nature thinks we need an encore performance here.

Winter: 1987 Chevy Suburban

Summer: 1961 Chevy Impala

Re: What does TBCS drive?
I love that Impala! I have a friend with a 66, and my parents have a 2000. :)
-
Re: What does TBCS drive?
i have a friend (keep in mind, it's a she) who drives the 6.2L Diesel suburban from that generation.
The thing is a stonking great brute of a vehicle. The dashboard is a mile wide and you can't reach anything on it from the passenger seat, also it's so far up that I feel like a dictator.
-
Re: What does TBCS drive?
In the Winter I drive a '95 Plymouth Voyager that my family nick-named the "smelly goat-mobile"... it has 185,000 miles on it and the paint is chipping off in big chunks, it is far too embarrassing a heap to post pictures of.
But...
In the months that aren't cold and snowy I drive a '99 Porsche Boxster... it's the sole reason I can't get much modding done when it's nice outside. It's a really fun car to drive.
-
Re: What does TBCS drive?
98 Buick LeSabre with 160,000 miles.
Series II 3.8, I'm working on an 05 Series III to drop in, and might get a supercharger for it!
-
Re: What does TBCS drive?
2002 Jeep Cherokee. It's a shame it gets like 13mpg, it's a surprising amount of fun to drive. Lots of character. ~260 mile range on an 18 gallon tank isn't very good for trips. It's great for high school, though, one of my friends bumped me jokingly and smashed in his grille. Steel bumpers FTW.

Re: What does TBCS drive?
I drive TBCS. She's a fine ship.

Heh, one of the last XJs, eh? Nice truck. My Volvo's the same way - go ahead, hit me... thick black plastic over thicker metal.
EDIT: I'll get pics of said Volvo once it's light again.

Somebody hit me in the parking lot when I went to park, actually. Broke the plastic cover off the side of my bumper, scuffed a bit of the paint. Their rear door was completely smashed in. I think I won that encounter :D

Re: What does TBCS drive?
I drive a 2005 Subaru Liberty manual, it's a Legacy for those of you in the States and Europe.
http://img.worldcarfans.com/2005/10/...013.002.1M.jpg
That's exactly what mine looks like except I don't have the hood scoop for the intercooler (as I don't have the turbo) and I have a detail edging on my headlights
If I want to drive something a little different my Mum drives a 2008 Subaru Liberty Heritage manual (2.5i) and my Dad drives a Subaru Tribeca 2007 model (not the really ugly one, the never one) lol.
