Re: GScreen SpaceBook Dual Monitor Laptop!
That's a pretty great design. You can't really get a good idea of the laptop until you head on over to Gizmodo and check out the pictures they have. I can't wait to see future products from them as they advance and evolve more and more. One thing I would change is that big black bar separating the screens. Have the screens edge to edge, at least on the sides where they line up. But that's a pretty minor complaint.
These things are going to cost an insane amount of money. lol
Re: GScreen SpaceBook Dual Monitor Laptop!
wow...a laptop I actually want to own lol
Re: GScreen SpaceBook Dual Monitor Laptop!
According to Engadget:
"Inside, you'll have a selection of Core 2 Duos, 4B of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 900M GT graphics, and a 7200rpm drive -- all of which explain why it's expected to cost just south of $3,000."

I'd like to see how this thing closes, battery life running 2 screens can't be that great either.

lol oh man, it has to be HORRIBLE. They should just advertise it as a portable dual screen desktop that can run on batteries for ten minutes. lol
Re: GScreen SpaceBook Dual Monitor Laptop!
The screens slide in, one behind the other, so that they can run as a single screen unit if desired.
As for the battery life, it's no different in hardware from other laptops, with the exception of the second screen. And if it's using LED backlights, I dont think there'll be a noticeable difference.

It's more like an add-on screen than a true dual screen setup. Although I would still love to have it! Perfect for watching a movie and talking to someone on MSN at the same time. :p
Re: GScreen SpaceBook Dual Monitor Laptop!
That is an awesome laptop, I can see a new laptop for my business in the near future I hope.

Hahaha, no no, it's not "poor battery life" it's a built in UPS! :P
Seriously though, I can definitely see there being a market for this; props to them for actually making one.
Re: GScreen SpaceBook Dual Monitor Laptop!
Ohhh man what a waste with hardware options. A rig like that should come with DDR3 and a GTX260 at least with a free MXM and harddrive slot.
It should be up to par with Alienware in gaming performance and then they'd really be competing in the market(s).
otherwise what a sexy design. If it had higher end hardware it would be my dream laptop.
EDIT: They should put a hinge on the back screen so it pops out to meet the outside monitor flush. I think the depth difference may bother me.

Could not agree with you more.
The intended market is video/graphics pro's who need to do video rendering, etc. on the go and need the extra screen space ... they have given them the screen space but only by cutting the rest of the kit back to the point where it basically isn't up to the job it's intended for.
The main buyers will be people with more money than sense.

Re: GScreen SpaceBook Dual Monitor Laptop!
It's like building a Ferrari and putting a 4cyl in it. Why waste the potential by skimping on hardware.
Gamers, businessmen and graphic professionals. The top three consumers willing to spend most for the TOP of the line.
It's a waste producing such an awesome design only to include hardware that's on its way out the door already.
