And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Ok before I get all of the negative remarks about a WC kit over a custom WC loop please understand that I am simply reviewing this kit from Thermaltake. Over the next few weeks I will be testing and reviewing 3 kits. 1 from Thermaltake, 1 from larkooler and the last is a fully custom kit from our friends at DangerDen that was custom chosen for my new Phenom II X4 testing rig. I just wanted to share the photos of my first loop with you guys.
This one is the Thermaltake Prowater 850i with the Thermaltake M1 reservoir installed. How well did it do? Well you will have to wait on the review for that.
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Since you already know my comment on Tt, how's it working out for you?
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Professional looking job right there!
Better looking loop than mine!
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Well the install was easy and the temps are great on the Athlon X2. I will bench it on the Phenom X4 when I get it built in a week or so
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Just to out do you, expect pictures of my loop here shortly.
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
oh lordy.... tt..
nice job installing it though.

what happened to your cables? do mice live in there?
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
wicked short loop trace! even the best loop order :)
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Quick build tonight. Haven't had time for cable management

thank god... scared the crap out of me. lol

At least the rats won't die of thirst, once they chew through your tubing.
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
OMG those cables are making my eyes bleed... You know how OCD I am about cable management. Nice loop though. Why is a short loop better than a long one? It would seem to me that a long loop, having more surface area for the water to contact would actually run cooler than a short loop.
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
haha... im cable ocd to oneslow... dont feel bad... and i second his question.
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Short loop is better as it is less head for the pump to push water through. It will have the same amount of contact in the Rad/Block whether it was a long loop or a short loop.

your tubing doesn't transfer any heat worth mentioning or adding up, the extra length would cancel out any extra heat transfer tubing has.
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
While that is correct, you guys are really splitting some pretty damned fine hairs here. Technically, the extra water in the longer loop should also act as a passive heat sink, just like the extra water in a reservoir, thereby giving the loop as a whole a greater heat capacity. Correct?

correct accept once you reach equilibrium and which point it doesn't matter how much water you have in your loop. if you had a res the size/capacity of a swimming pool at 18C you could have those temps or close to for a good set of hours, but once your cpu heated all the water up it becomes useless.
but your right about splitting hairs as that pump could handle the extra length of tubing will little to no impact on temps.

Trace, this is for you. Quick build today.
Re: And it begins!! My first WC loop!
Idn if this helps Kayin - bit of overkill on the VERY quick n dirty enhancement so it started to go grainy, but I think you can see things a lil more here....
