Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
I enjoy browsing through photos of peoples PC interiors for cable management ideas and inspiration. So how about we all post some pics of our current and past cooling setups? Everything from Air to extreme L2n setups are welcome.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
I think everyone has seen mine...lovely cable managament ehh?

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
Ok Here is my current loop. Its a Thermaltake Prowater 850i I am testing for a review. I added a Thermaltake Aquabay M1 to the mix for added "bling"
Here is a few shots of it on air. The cable management took close to 5 hours to get to the point it is at in these pics.
And some previous pics.

First setup,
second setup,
current setup.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
3rd setup is obviously the coolest thing ever

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
I like that third setup also, but I have to wonder about air flow. Am I not seeing something there? How much space is there behind the radiators, it looks like they're right up against the wall.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
I'm just thinking about the head pressure those pumps have to have.
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
are you cooling the house too???

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
lol... depends on the season i suppose... but ac units use the same principle to cool the air..

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
It's not quite as impressive as Spawn's ;) , but here's mine.

airflow is towards the wall, i'm sure some of the air gets sucked back into the rads but it's complete overkill so it doesn't effect things much. there is about 8-10" from the rads to the wall.
thats for the other comments :) if i can get a better job i would like to expand the rad setup from a 3x3 to a 4x4 setup. then i can not only have 32 fans, but i can go off road
x88x - is that 7/16" over the stock 3/8" barbs on the pump or did you mod the pump?

here was my armor when it was WC
and here is how it sits now

Actually it's 3/8" Tygon over the stock 3/8" barbs.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
here's mine :P the pic of the UV-lit pump is kinda dark, sorry...and the dual UV lit reservoirs are visible through the side opening flaps (as well as through the vent holes in the roof). I'm not sure about the fate of the blue fan in front - I discovered last night that it really does not seem to contribute to keeping temps down (I thought it might help and was worth a try). I don't know yet if I'll leave it in there or not; if I do I'll probably solder it into the same fan speed controller that's running the 6 1600rpm Scythe Slipstream rad fans.

ahh, i saw the fat boys and just assumed they were 1/2"
@SXRguyinMA - why did you drop the water cooling?

well for my hardware it wasn't necessary at all. I got it back when I first built this rig, and only got it cuz it was cool to say I had a liquid cooled computer lol. Then as time went on and I changed cases, then modded the case a few different times, it got to be a hassle disconnecting all the tubing, draining it, reconnecting, refilling, then refilling every month or so when the water level got a little low and I could hear constant trickling that annoyed me till no end.
the Thermaltake Big Typhoon Pro 14 that I have now is a lot simpler, and cools just as well as the WC setup I had did

Well, you were actually partially correct. I ran out of 3/8" fittings, so the fillport line is 1/2" fat boys. :D

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
Here's my current set up. There are two 120mm fans at the front, one at the top, one at the rear. I have a 500rpm 140mm fan on the cpu cooler, and two fanless gpu coolers. I think I might get some really thin 120mm fans for them though. It's hard to say. Right now the loudest fans are the PSU and chipset, which is killing me a little bit. I may remove the chipset fan and add a potentiometer to the PSU, but I'm not sure.
The gpu coolers are two of these. The CPU cooler is this. All the fans are these.

geez, D has more heatsink than motherboard! 0_0!
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
I'm not even sure there *is* a motherboard under there!

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
Here's the new Corsair H50 I just got installed. Idling at 28, full load on a half-hour OCCT test topped at 47. :D

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
does that have the pump built into the waterblock? thats a pretty good idea.
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
Yep, the pump and the block are one unit. It's a completely sealed system, comes pre-filled and it was a snap to install. So far I love it.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
thats pretty cool. makes watercooling idiot proof basically. i like it! and nice cable management btw ;)

There is no such thing. The best we can hope for is idiot-resistant, and yeah it does that fairly well.

Appreciate that, but like the watercooling, I have to bow to the hardware on that also. This case makes cable management a snap. As Kayin once said, "Finally, factory cable management that doesn't suck". I'll have a review up on this case in a few days. I have to say, Thermaltake got it right with this one. ;)

which is why i personally don't even consider it water cooling. yes you are using water, but you do nothing other then install it. which is nice, but not as fun.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
true, but it also (I think anyways) will bring people who were scared of WCing into the realm of it, and I've noticed that once you start WCing, you tend to want bigger and better until you have a setup like yours! ;)

Quoted for truth!
You also start looking at other peoples setups and dreaming of the perfect setup.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
I have to disagree. I got a cooling kit and it was not very good. I'm now back to air cooling (although you can see where that got me, haha). I still think up dream systems with peltier cooled video cards, CPUs, Ram. Everything will be liquid cooled including the PSU and motherboard.
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
I have seen a lot of cheap kits out there, and heard really bad things about a lot of them. The one problem with watercooling is that to do it right, it really requires an initial investment of at least a couple hundred dollars. I was thinking it over the other day, and my current loop cost me almost exactly $600..

unless you are thrifty and paitent? lol.... my loop for blue storm is sizing up to be about 300 when all is said and done.. i guess i got lucky though
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
Haha, yeah, you did. That batch of stuff you got from blueonblack is worth about twice what you paid for it.
EDIT:
That is one thing that is both nice and annoying about watercooling stuff...it tends to not really depreciate much at all.
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
haha... yea... if it hadnt been for him i probably wouldnt be watercooling the next one... although i really need to at my house in summer. hotter than a pig on a roof....
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
:) Glad someone can get some good out of one of my errors in judgement for once.

Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
The TT loop I have installed in my AM2 rig is keeping things about 10C over ambient on a full load. Now how long it will last before the copper and aluminum start swapping electrons is another story.
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
... -_^ They made a kit loop with both aluminum and copper components??? ...I think the worst part is that I'm not really that surprised..it is TT after all. :P
-
Re: Post pics of your cooling setups. Air, Water and Extreme setups welcome!
Just remember guys, one of these days if you keep going down the road you'll be like me, and still have radiators all over the house and tubing in boxes and still trying to plan the perfect loop.
There is no "perfect loop." Merely one better than the last time.
Mod on, brothers. Can't wait to add my own pics in here.
