A case for modification..

dunno if any of you guys here do this also....
but ive got a case that i use to practice out ideas before i take it to my really nice cases

this is my latest bit of modding....i was lookin at the Orac3 mod and thought id try something similar

my modded PSU

custom cut cable i made

PSU with cables plugged in.....sittin on my $50 Koolance case

the junction point to clean up the cable mess....piece of clear acrylic sprayed with UV blue paint

yeah...for the most part it is jusf for looks.......by the time i finish everything on this...those will be the only cables visible

you should make those the power connectors

i know defyant used a composite connector for a fan, it looked awesome.



try it out and tell us how it goes =D

technically it is the power connectors....i redid the wiring on the inside of the psu......even re ran the 20 pin cable to come out of the bottom of the psu....

most of the ideas for this case are inspired by a lot of the cases i look to for ideas...modders i highly respect..such as tribal, defyant and g-gnome...just to name a few.....

hopefully sunday night i will have more..

Oh yeah, Tribal, Def, (Obviously) Paul, very respectable and skilled modders.

What's funny is i've tryed to talk to defyant and get some tips about modding but he's always playing WoW (i play WoW too =D)

yeah..of course crimson sky...that was so obvious i didnt need to put him in the list

no update on the case tonight......didnt get a chance to after work.....went food shopping..then it got dark

but i will promise you pictures tomorrow :D

tonight was pretty good for me....got the box bondo-d in... sanded...and now its gettin its frist coat of primer.....so tomorrow it will have its new beautiful paintjob...hopefully...

im tired now...2 AM and its got its first primer coat....ill have pics up wihen i wake in the mornin

i was brave and bought some bondo

i began to pain it tonight...got it all primered then the next night gave it some coats of black

and just for comparing....

i got my clear coat on it last night...so this morning i woke up and sanded and waxed/buffed it....got pics of one side done

all painted and ready for clear coat

one side all buffed...so reflective....

tonight i should have pics of it all done painted wise...i just gotta fix the front plate and redo some wiring then the PSU will be done

so the power supply is nearing completion...now comes a mass amount of acrylic work

all assembled and turned on

reflective even in the dark :)

should have more on it soon...while in this point of ideas...i started workin on stuff for my other case....one that ill have a worklog started on as soon as i start the actual case

been brewing up some ideas :)

ok...so i had a few stainless steel parts layin around at work....figured i would put them to good use :)

ill be using them for transwer of hoses between the pump and blocks of my system

all mounted up

and placed in the case

that piece of acrylic is NOT the final piece....:)...when finished it will either be painted black...or ill use aluminum
