I would pay 300 dollars tops for that. 100 for the case, 100 for the work put into it and 100 because I'm feeling generous.
Is it just me? Am I not seeing something here? Why is it so expensive??

But this case is so weak, its not worth a grand at all. I'd pay a grand for that Ghost Rider though, that thing is Niice.

It's okay though, I just wanted to point out how much Xoxide ticks me off sometimes.
Now if it was made by one of the "Mod Gods" (especially Crimson) I wouldn't have a problem with the price tag at all. In fact, I would say that its a tad bit under priced. But there would be a new issue. If one of the "Mod Gods" built that and was trying to sell it for some decent moolah, I would be kind of ashamed. It just isn't... that great. And Ive never personally like XioXide like...ever...i think theyre overpriced in a lot of aspects.
One thing we should keep in mind is that, although "overpriced" for our tastes, if somebody pics it up and buys it, *we* the moddin' community benefits...
If they sold such a case at $1,000, then by god-all-mighty, so can we.

Good point...I was actuallly contemplating if I would want (After my mod of course), see how it fairs in a marketplace, then opening up my own studio or something with a group of friends.
So yea...I see your point. As for me though, its overpriced.
You don't need many skills or $1000 to have a case with wheels on the bottom, just a drill, a case, and some wheels (and whatever else you might need). I could easily take my case and attach wheels... not that there would be much point... it's not like I'm in a power chair and go everywhere, if that were the case, I'd get a laptop... or a shelf with a generator to put it on...

load of crap. All they did was cut a plexi hole out of the side and add shiny stuff...
i personally hate the idea of them putting their stuff up on xoxide or any custom modded cases for that matter i mean lets think i about the friggen basis of the site i mean we dont want other people modding are cases!

well if there is one good thing to be said about that case it has a sweet paint job. i'd sooner buy the new bfg 8800GTX water cooled edtion and put it in a crappy case.
The price tag's on thoes psudo custom cases's are horrible. If Crimson tried selling a case for that amount i would litteraly resign my membership to TBCS. :devious:Quote:

these are serious custom cases being made by Bill Owen and Co. They are craftsmen and artisans. I'm sure there are many hours of work and detailing going into these. Anything custom or hand made is going to be pricey....just friggin face it. You would all freak out if you knew what i charge for custom projects. You all need to consider the price of custom luxury items. American Chopper anyone?. And don't think any less work goes into some of the mods out there than a custom bike.
Doom3 case mod? Think down payment on a house, or a Cadillac Escalade.

No no, Doom3 is a piece of art. If you look close enough you can actually see stains from blood sweat and tears. :) Lots of little bit & pieces. Moving parts, intergrated lights. Thats craftsmanship!

The only custom thing on that case is the fron beziel. He cut the bottom half off, inverted it and painted it silver. The paint is imperfect.
Thats the only thing i can see as being custom. Minus the bolt on feet and fan grill.
Judging from the 3 cases he has on xoxide, his "WarMachine" case is the only case worth more than its weight in manure. (i like that case a lot).

I didnt really look at that other case. Exceptional airbrushing! ****ty mods though. $5 appliance casters and a window in the bottom of the case with no window in the side??? Who picks up there case to look through the window on the bottom? Honestly..
you know ive shopped their for a while and i still dont know how to pronounce it is it like x-oxide or just oxide? or like zoxide? (the Z being liker xaiver)
People might also be being the name with it.
Like the pre-mades the american choppers do. They dont just make super fantastic bikes all the time. They make little kit bikes just so they can actually make money.
I agree Cana that their custom work relies heavily on factory cases--which in essence is true case modifying-- But i do have to say that Bill's work is better than his partner's.
And Ichbin is right, even the custom themed bikes made by the chopper guys are built on many many pre-made parts. It's the custom details that set them apart.
Maybe we should put it to a vote.

personally id choose A simply cause of the fact that i dont like no noise i like it loud as hell hence why there are 15 fans in my pc lol jk its really for ocing i realy have difficulty sleeping since i take ritalan for ADD so i have real hard times falling aleep without i take like a sleep medicine just to knock me out lol but i mean i could be up all night in a flash (hence why ull see some of my posts at like 3) and so i use my pc to help me fall asleep its around 80 Db
