Project: NLM.
First of all, hi.
I'm new on this forum, so I'll hope you guys make me fell home ;)
The log has been on bit-tech and a danish forum called tweak for a while. But then I saw this forum and i thought that you shouldn't miss my project. My name on the danish forum is lp-freak and that explain the text in the picture ;)
But enjoy my log guys :) (c/p :p)
Hi guys and welcome to my first project here on bit-tech!
My name is Jon, I’ve just turned 16, and I’m from a little country called Denmark, we haven’t got lots of good case modders here, so with this case I hope to bring Denmark onto the international modding scene :)
I would like to present my up-coming project: NLM which stand for Nano Lan Monster.
My last project was very big, and now I want to make something, more crazy and sensational. I’ve been thinking a lot, and then I suddenly realized that I needed something crazy! First I would make a theme case, you know like a Counter Strike theme or a mud theme, but then when one of my friends send me a link to one of those small Nano Itx motherboards, my brain started working ideas out.
Now I wont give you all details, but just a overview, and some of the main-things.
- Small
- Lan suitable
- Crazy
I think that’s it ;) The dimensions is going to be about 15*15*20, I just need the last information, then I can give you the correct dimensions.
My color-theme is black and orange.
I’ve just ordered some orange plexi; 3 and 5mm :)
As soon I’m getting home from vacation (about 25’th February) I’ll order all the stuff I need, I’ve made a little list for you guys:
- Motherboard
- RAM
- PSU
- 120mm orange fan
- Orange cabelsleeving (1/8”, 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2”)
- Black headshrink (1/8”, 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2” and 3/4”)
- Black connectors
- Orange 3mm leds
- Orange bulging button (and yes it exists)
And then I also want An airbrush (I’ve always wanted that tool ;))
I’ve got all the tools I need, so if I just take my time, I’m sure I’ll get a good result!
Oh and also when I remember it! I’m going to build this case, cause I couldn’t find one to mod :D
But now I wont talk anymore, lets get to work. First part will follow in 2 minutes. Cya!

Re: Project: NLM.
Update 1 – Fridge Part 1 @ Tuesday the 6th February 2007.
For word
I’ll build a little fridge for my case, I’ll start building the fridge because it’s the biggest thing so I’m going to use the dimensions. In the first part I’ll only build the box, later I’ll show you how its going to work!
The funny part
First I’ve gut out some pieces I’ll be using to the inmost where the cola is going to be.
All the pieces isn’t on the picture, but just to get an idea of the size I’ll show you this image.
Now I’ve bend some of the corners.
This is how they look, that’s great :)
The first pieces putted together, I used rivets to hold them.
That’s defiantly good enough for the inside, I’ll anyways paint it.
Now the whole box is rivet together, that’s not bad ;)
Now with a beer in it, it fits perfectly!
Now I gave it some silicone to hold condense inside the box, we wont have wet hardware will we?
Now I’ve made the outside cover ready some synthetic metal.
The stuff I’ll put on will cover cracks like those, and when I paint it, you cant see anything ;)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Some shots after the synthetic metal. I’ll sand it down.
Now I’ve rough sanded the corners.
So now I call the dremmel.
And after some dusty hours I’ve got a cover ready to fine sanding :)
Well, now away from that boring sanding, and time to find some materials, first here’s the isolation I’m going to use, original it was noise killer material for my other project, but I bet I can use it here as well.
The paint I’m going to use.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 2 – Fridge Part 2 @ Saturday the 10th February2007.
For word.
Today I’ve done some more work on the fridge, not much but some sanding and painting.
In the next part I’ll prepare the frige for some cooling, but you got to wait until the end of the week.:)
The funny part
The outside-box is now sanded and ready for brushed look.
Now I’ve sanded it with a grit 120 paper.
Some close-ups, this is not bad :D.
After some painting. I’ve planted a little piece of tape to show the upside. Its only the two big sides which’s on this picture, that will be visible in the case.
It’s not easy to take good pictures of the surface. But as you properly can see, it looks awesome. That brushed look which also Lian Li uses is just amazing.
I’ll prepare the first piece of isolation.
Cut out.
And put in the box :)
That’s it, stay cool until next update ;)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 3 – Fridge Part 3 @ Thursday the 15th February 2007.
For word
Today I’ve got a lot of work done on the fridge. Maybe it looks a bit messed, but I’ll try to explain the pictures so you can follow me.
The funny part
I’ll start showing you some of the stuff I’m going to use.
Here’s the to first things, a hinge and a some kind of “fastening” (Don’t know what to call it ^^)
But let’s take a closer look.
Here’s the hinge, I’ll give it some black paint before continue.
Here’s the ”fastening”, its quiet smart. As the way I’ve put them together at the last picture, they’ll be in the final result.
Here’s the block who’s going to lead the heat away from the peltierelementet, as I’ll show you in 2 sec.
This is the back, I’ll sand it down.
And the little 40mm fan I’m going to use.
I gave it some power, but it’s blue.
Right there You’ll find a led (and 2 other places), I have to open the fan to kill them.
Now they’re gone.
Aaah that’s much better.
At Tuesday I got some stuff from the post.
Here’s its most important contents, the peltierelement! I want it to cool the whole fridge, and I swear its effective! I’ll give you some temps when it’s installed.
If you shouldn’t know the one side is 60degreeds colder than the other, and if i then cool down the warm side, the other will be cold :) It use 4A and 12V which give an effect at 48W, which give my PSU some opposition ^^ Don’t worry I’ll take case of that later.
Some leds. Orange off cause. :D They’re on 2V so I’ll put them together 6 and 6 in serial on the 12V line.
And a lot of headshrink.
This is how I want to mount the pelterelement.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Now lets get to work! The first I did was to sand down the block, grit 120 – 300 – 600 – 1000 – done. This is how I looks now :D
Here I’ve draw where I’ll gut a 1mm groove for the hinge.
Cut out.
But before mounting the hinge, I’ll need a door. There’s 3 parts in the door, a outside, a inside, and the isolation between. This one is the outside.
Before I can mount the door I’ll need to make a little plate which 1½mm. It fits very good.
Now I’ve got some bolds on. But I wont use those, I’ll use rivets.
Now it’s mounted. Crap picture, I’ll bring you a better one in the next update.
I mounted the fan to see how it will look, it fits perfect with 4mm bolds, so I’ll use those. (Off cause I’m going to paint them.)
I’ve cut some holes on the inside of the door, it works good.
From the other side, the one who turns down to the cola. I need to finish this.
And the fastening is mounted.
Now the little thing which hold the door, It’ll be mounted on the same plate as the coolblock.
A little overview.
When I was working the post gave me a package.
That’s it.
In it I’ve found some plexi :D Orange off cause! 2 pieces. One at 5mm frosten and one at 3mm clear. This is definitely enough for the little NLM ;)
That’s not bad ;)
Hope to see you soon guys!
Comments are welcome as always :D
Btw. I’ll repaint the outside box :)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 4 – Fridge Part 4 @ Tuesday the 27th February 2007.
For word.
All right I’ve got some more work done today.
One update more, and the fridge should be finished :)
The funny part
First a picture from where I was last week (Trysil @ Norway). Man there was goddamn -20 degrees.
Lets mod! So I’m going to use some foam (don’t know what its called in English) instead of the noise isolation. It seems as a much better solution.
Now I put some “joint mass” on because: it hide the ugly foam, And it helps to isolate when the door is closed. I’ll paint everything when there’s nothing else left to do.
I’ve rivet the hing, I’ll paint those to, as swell as repaint the whole fridge.
And I’ve drilled a hole for the cables.
Now the peltier and the coolblock are mounted.
The backside looks good to.
Well I ****ed the door up, so I’m going to make a new ^^ (Maan I love my mill :D)
That’s pretty good.
And the door is on, it fits very good.
All right lets work on the little handle.
After a meet with my mill it’s almost done, just need some filling and sanding, to make it fit the rest of the fridge.
This is how it should be, it’s properly good enough ;)
See you soon! Btw. Comments are welcome!

Re: Project: NLM.
Update 5 – The Fridges logo part 1 @ Thursday the 1st March 2007.
For word.
Today I got some more work done! When I’m working on the fridge, so I can give you guys the last update, I wanted to do something cool.
There isn’t much to say. But I think you should enjoy the result, cause I bet it looks great! Next update will arrive tomorrow. I’ll paint the alu black, and hope it looks even better :D
The funny part
All right, first I’ve cut some 1½mm alu and some 3mm plexi out.
I did a little sketch – hope you’ll understand it.
I’ve put it in the mill.
Now the hard work begin ^^
Baaam. That’s nice!
Lets go with the N.
Done! It looks great to.
…and when they are putted together.
But we need the M.
Über nitzel! – that’s the word!0
I’ll let the last pictures talk them self.
The alu is gone. It’s now ready for some paint.
See you soon!

Re: Project: NLM.
Update 6 – Fridges logo Part 2 @ Friday the 2nd May 2007.
For word.
Today I got some more done (not very mutch) But eneugh to make an update :) I’ve figured out a smart way to light-up the logo..
Lets do it. :D
Den sjove del
I’ve painted the alu black. I think it’s cool!!
Some holes for the leds (3mm)
Done ;)
And some orange 3mm leds in. (this is not the final, I’ll do it correct when I’ve painted the backplate)
From the good side ;)
And with light on.
Well It’s hard to get good pictures of this, but I think you’ve got an idea about how much they lighup.
:) cool ;).
That’s it for today.

Re: Project: NLM.
Update 8 – Fridge part 5 @ Wedensday the 7th March 2007.
For word.
This is the last update about the Fridge!
There isn’t much to say, but as you’ll find out, I’ve now finished this part.
I ordered some stuff from performance-pcs i hope it’ll arrive tomorrow.
Lets gogo
The funny part
I don’t know why it’s always the details I’m photographing, but here I’ve sanded the handle.
The isolation has been glued on, I’ll fix the edges later.
Now there’s some silicon between the 2 parts.
After a couple of day.
Lol, I’ve to fix this.
That was easy :)
Perfect.
I’ve put on some bondo @
Done with the dremel.
And the last holes’ patched.
A lot of sanding and some paint later:
Nice nice. But after I’ve changed the plans (which means that I’ve to mod a little mATX case) I was worried if I even could get it fit.
It’ll be placed here, but because of those bastads I have to “try-fit” it closer to the psu.
Now I’ve planted it.
Omg I was lucky, it fit very good!
See you soon, I’m going to make my own waterblocks ;)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 9– Parts @ Thursday the 8th March 2007.
For word.
Today I received my package from perfomance-pcs! :D Lets take a look.
The funny part
Here’s my bulgin, it should light orange when I plug the power.
I can’t wait to get power on this to ;)
And the cabels.
Connectors.
Don't know what to call them, but you plug them on the end of the cable, so they are ready for molex, ehe. Now I have 240, you always need them ^^
Some orange sleeving, thought I ordered way more, but lets see.
Some orange neon paint ;)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 10 – Hardware & Custom cpu block @ Friday the 9th March 2007.
For word.
W00hooo I got a cool cpu block don! When I get my new pumpI’ll leak-test it.
The funny part
2*1gb ram (don’t know the brand)
Motherboard (with amd 3700+)
Ati x600 pro
80 gb Maxtor hdd, I want to mod it.
Lets take a look at my block:
I bet it’s cool! – can you guys se the ”NLM” i typed in i? ;)
And puted on, looks very good.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 11 – The front part 1 @ Sunday the 11th March 2007.
For word.
Yes sir, now the front’s almost done! I really love it, and I think that it’ll look amazing with black brushed alu! Lets take a look.
The funny part
The alu sheet.
And the plexi sheet.
They fit very good.
I got to separate my LCD to find the dimensions.
After some milling.
And then back to the mill again. The biggest job for the front is waiting.
PERFEKT!!!!!
Some closeups
And when it’s on the case.
Then the last holes. One for the bulgin button, and two for the tubbing which I want to go outside the case ;)
… ;)
A closeup.
And the last picture. It look very good.
Comments are very welcome!
Cya!

Re: Project: NLM.
Update 12 – The front part 2 @ Thursday the 15th Mach 2007.
Into
Allright, to day i finished up the front.
Btw. All the screws you’ll see is only for now, I’m going to order some black M4 umbraco screws!
Lets do it.
The funny part
Allright, here’s the front I’m going to play with.
It look horrible with the grey metal underneath there.
Cut the big square out, and time for the dremmel.
That’s a lot better!
And from the inside, I’ll make a cover later ;)
Those crappy rivets is just were I want to plant my plaxi.
So why not make some 7mm holes ;)
Now, that was better.
And then some sanding.
And paintet absolutely awesome
I just love the orange and black!
I need to glue the two parts together, so I marked up where the LCD screen is.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Lets glue.
Ready to join.
Then some pressure to make contact all over!
And now! Good!
Mhh, that’s nice.
All right, lets drill some holes for the mounting.
And also for the fan.
Damn, I ran into this little problem. The nut wont fit in there, so I have to do some dremling later.
Nice – right?
And from the inside, after I putted on the glue, I’m 100% sure that I’ll make a cover plate..
See you soon ;)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update13 – Plate work part 1 @ Monday the 18th March 2007.
Intro.
Well. I changede the plans again, and now I found a great way to do it!
I hope to finish the last big plate, and put in some plexi in the window.
The funny part
I cut the top and bended it so the sidepanels will fit under.
And it fit ;)
Lets go to my lovely mill.
Done :D
It fits very nice ;)
And time to find the holes for screws.
Goooooooood!
Drilled up the holes so i can fit m4 screws :D
And time to mount the motherboard.
That’s cool.
;)
The first side panel is cutted out.
Bet this would look cool when it’s brushed and painted black, and with orange plexi!
Hope to get some more done tomorrow! Cya!
Btw. Sorry the bad pictures, I screws up the settings on my cam.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 14 – Reservoir @ Tuesday the 20th March 2007.
Intro
Yesterday my radiator, psu and pump arrived, so i decided to drop the plans about making the panels today, and instead create a reservoir ;)
The funny part
All right, here’s the first part, I’ve drilled holes for fittings and screws.
Look how straight this is! 6 holes with 60degreeds between each ;)
Nice! Me like.. Very cool look, right?
And here we have the top with packing and screws ;)
And now, DONE!
What do you think? ;)
And mounted in the case.
Hold by those.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
;)
And here’s the stuff i got yesterday.
And all my watercooling until now ;)
Lets put it together.
And some water’s needed.
NO LEAKS!! :D
Bad picture, but try to imaging how this look irl..
I’ll try to make the last side panel today.
Comments are welcome ;) Cya guys :)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 15 – PSU plate @ Friday the 23rd Marc 2007.
Intro
Today I’ve got some more work done.
I did also made the last side panel, but you have to wait until next update ;)
The idea came when I figured out that the psu was to big to fit the case. I think the result is pretty good. When I get some more time I’ll create some spacers that’ll hold the psu and the case together ;) Lets go.
The funny part
As you can see, there is not that much space.
So lets use the dremmel.
Done.
As you can see, there’s space for everything now.
Then it’s time to create the plate, here I did a little drawing.
All right, we start here. A plexi and a alu sheet.
And once again I need to use the mill.
Now it’s time to make it fit.
Great!
What do you think?
-
Re: Project: NLM.
I need to cut off those.
And a little mistake I need to fix.
And fixed, it looks much better irl than on the picture, and when the screw is in place, you want see it.
And then it’s time to clean my workshop.
And then.. ;)
What do you think?
Cheers :D
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 16 – Plate work part 2 @ wedensdy the 28th March 2007.
Intro
I got some more work done! Here’s what I need to do on the plates.
Front - Finished
Side panel with window – Need to be sanded and painted.
Side panel with logo – Need to be sanded and painted.
Top – Need to be sanded and painted.
Back – Not started
Bottom – Not started
Now what you’re all looking for; pictures!
The funny part
I’ll use those to hold the and case together, you’ll see in the next update ;)
The plexi for the window is now cutted.
Hope it’ll look good.
And with some screws ;)
How do you think this would look with black brushed panels? Good right?
I thought that it would look good with this text on the other panel, hope i was right :)
And some more plexi, this time frosted.
I hope it’ll look sweet with light in it ;)
And then i mounted this site.
But those screws was a little to long.
Now that little problem has been fixed ;)
Cool.
And here we have all the panels until now.
I want to start on the back plate this week.
So here’s the plexi and alu, cant wait to mill and see the result ;)
Hope you’ve enjoyed. Cheers.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 17 – The backplate @ Friday the 29th Mach 2007.
Intro
Now the backplate is milled. It’s looking even better in real life than on the pictures, så I’m happy ;)
I’ll polish the PSU, because I think it’ll be a good contrast to the black and orange.
But I’m really tied, so I wont commentate the pictures, just let them talk ;)
The funny part
That’s it ;)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 18 – More plate work @ Thursday the 5th April 2007.
Intro
Here we go, another update. I’ve spend a lot of time sanding and painting :D Another update will come later to night, so stay here guys (:
The funny part
Here’s all the plates after painting.
I just love this look :)
One of the plexi plates is now glued on.
And the good side :)
Some soldering.
Now that’s good. The light ain’t that hard in the corners irl, but my camera like making the light more effective ^^
And the window got glued.
This is how the PSU look right now, just need some cabelsleeving and then it’s finnished.
The pictures aren’t that good :( but hopefully you’ll see how shiny that thing is :D
See you later to night guys!
Cheers.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 19 – Different stuff ;) @ Thursday the 5th April 2007.
Intro
Some more work done :D
When I have some more time for modding, I’ll mill the waterblock for the peltierlement, cause I want to see how it’ll look with the outside tubing ;)
But lets take a look.
The funny part
The first thing to do today was to drill holes.
Yep, to make the plate fit on those :)
Now that’s good.
So..
And the two parts glued together.
Now it’s only the holes that’s left.
Thos screws will hold the bars for the psu.
It does just fit perfect ;)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
The next few pictures is how NLM looks right now ;) Enjoy.
Please commentate those pictures guys :D
Next thing to do was to fit the fridge into the case.
Cool.
And then I installed the LCD screen.
Not much space, but it’s good enough ;)
And a little teaser from the sleeving, I’ll show more later.
Cya!
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 20 – Watercooling on the fridge & outside tubing @ Monday the 9th April 2007.
Intro
Woha, now my coke should be cool as hell :D I think the outside tubing looks awesome, but i let you decide ;) I don’t want to talk any more, lets go to the pictures!
Den sjove del
Here’s the block:
Well, maybe it’s not the highest performance, but it should be good enough to keep my coke cool :P
Then I mounted it.
Now, lets cut out 4 pieces with the dimensions: 15*25mm, yep they are small, and i can tell you, it was a pain to cut them out.
And then drilling holes. Lol, actually it was even harder to drill 4mm holes in the 5mm plexi ^^
Time to drill the holes for the tubing holders.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
It fits just perfect!
;)
And here’s the pictures of the final result, enjoy :D
Comments and suggestions are more than welcome.
Btw, there wasn’t space enough for the counter-sinked screws. So I’m going off with those:
Cya!

Re: Project: NLM.
Update 21 – Rounding plexi and creating the bottom plate @ Thursday the 12th April 2007.
Intro
I’ve decided to mount the radiator directly on the bottom plate. And that’s why I wanted to create it to day. I’d also got time for some plexi rounding. If it’s matching the design better now you’ll find out in the next update, where I’ll put the beats together again. ;)
Today I also ordered some glue, which should be perfect for my h2o block! It’s design to glue plastic and aluminium together, and at the same time be water resistant, handle temps up to 90C and then it’s transparent!
Next update should be ready on Sunday. And here the last 3 h2o blocks should be milled out.
But lets take a look.
The funny part
Some of the stuff I ordered.
ACRyan mesh panel – those small holes are perfect for me. I’m going to hide my motherboard behind them ;)
My 120mm orange fan.
Some c-strip – I’m going to put this in the holes I’m milling in the mesh where the h2o blocks’ going to stick up. But I’ll show you more of that later on.
All right, I needed to round my plexi. On the big piece were the button and so are mounted on I’m going off with a big rounding.
And on the small piece’s a little rounding.
This is how I planned to do it. Now I’ll get a straight edge, and the same rounding all the way around.
After some filing we got this.
First piece’s finished.
After some sanding the edge should be good enough. When I get the dust washed off you wont see the small scratch.
Then I did the small piece’s.
Voila.
I’m sad because I wont be able to see this fantastic grill when I’m finished, because It’s in the bottom. I do really like those big grooves, and I think that they match the design very well.
Some more cutting in the little old case. It’s incredible that it’s still stable.
I hope that this will give a awesome effect, with the orange glowing under the computer.
I did also need to cut a little here. The radiator was a little to big – but I’ll fix that with a cool idea I got ;)
Hope you’ve enjoyed. Cya!
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 22 – Back in one piece @ Sunday the 15th April 2007.
Intro
Some more work done on the case ;) All those small part does just take soooo long time.
I haven’t got my screws jet, so you’ve got to look at the hex screws on this update too :D
I got NO time before my trap to London, but I’ll try to but in the PSU tomorrow so you can see how it looks :)
But lets move!!!!!!!!
The funny part
I did two waterblocks, this is how they started.
I need to do something here, the transistors are sitting way stupuid :D
And after a lot of milling this was what we got.
And the way to mount those block are a lot smarter than the block for the cpu. I’m just screwing a 3mm bolt into each of those holes, smart right? :D
And the little problem got solved.
DONE! Lets take a closer look.
Pretty sweet if you ask me ;)
And the hole family of water block :D
In-between all this I got time to paint the case.
…With the blocks mounted.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Off cause i added those to backside, we don’t want shorts right?
Then I mounted the block on the gfx.
And then something which was PISSING me off.. I needed to mill a new plate for the bottom, because that the radioator didn’t fit with the motherboard :wallbash: :duh: :duh: :wallbash:, I don’t get why I didn’t realized this earlier. Waste of money and time. (rofl look at all the scratches on the old one :D Maybe I got a little to angry)
The radiator and the fans got mounted :)
And I did also need to change the fittings on the gfx.
NOW IT FITS!!! YAYA!!!
There isn’t much space in there!
Mounting the res.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
And some shots threw the window, this part is just AWESOME, and even better IRL.
The grill with the fan behind… Looks sweet to. I’m going to remove the sticker :)
Lets have some shot:
Thats it. Hope you liked it. Comments are more than welcome! Btw. I’m not done yet, a lot off details need to be worked out. (also important stuff as hdd and pump ^^)
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 23 – HDD Part 1 @ Thursday the 10th April 2007.
Intro
Eh, not much time, so as soon I get some more time I’ll mod the harddisk. I want to cut NLM in the hdd cover, and mount some plexi on it. But we don’t want dust in the harddisk right? So I constructed this “hdd dismount boks” inspired from the spiderman case. In the next update there’ll be some actually modding, just hang on :)
The funny part
This it the harddisk, a 80gb Maxtor disk.
We’ll need a box, the only one I could find was this one.
My legoooo :D
Now the case’s ready.
Okay, here’s the top.
Then I cutted some plexi, I want to see what I’m doing :D
Some marking-up.
Some compass-sawing, and I got this nice hole :)
I need to fill this, I want absolutely NO dust into the case.
That’s good.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Then back to the case. I need to mount some gloves.
Drilling the holes :)
Looks good! Cant wait to use it :D
The silicone’s now dry, and It hold the plexi perfect.
And the finished case.
Let me hear what you think. Another update should be ready next week. Cheers.
-
Re: Project: NLM.
Update 24 – Feets Part 1 - Design @ Friday the 18th April 2007.
Intro
Ey guys! Finally I’ll have some spare time! In this weekend I’ll make the feets! I’ve also been modding on my harddrive, I just want to have everything in the next hdd update (including testing and mounting) so you’ll have to wait a little. Buuut, in the next update I’ll properly bring you a little teaser ;)
Oh back to the feets, I did some sketchup (sorry it’s my first attempt, hope the irl letters will be a little more round :D)
I have to do 2, one in the front and one in the back. But you’ll see later!
The funny part
The is one of the sides. You can read on the picture, what the holes in top are for.
And here again, just so you can see the letters a little more easy.
This is the other side, as you can see it’s similar to the other side, so you’ll be able to read NLM from both sides :D
The two black parts will be done in 5-8mm alu (don’t know yet, have to check out the workshop) They are separated by a 5mm thick frosted piece of acryl. It gives a totally thickness on 15-20, and that’s perfect ;) They’ll be about 16-18cm long (don’t know yet, I cant remember the size of the bottom eh)
The plexi will light up, and there be light IN the letters, bet that effect is going to be awesome.
I’ll start on the feets tomorrow, right now I have some English homework to do. Cya later guys :)

Update 25 – Feets and psu! @ Thursday the 24th May 2007.
Intro.
Finally I have a new update ready!.
Accidentally I deleted all the pics :(, So no work in process, only final shots – or actually i have a little more work to do on the feets :)
I do really like the feets! But damn NLM seems “squared” without the outside tubing.
The funny part
Here’s the atx connector :)
4-pin connector for the cpu.
And at last, this is how the molex connectors does look.
The orange cablesleeving goes very well with the black!

Re: Project: NLM.
But lets take a look at the case:
And with som light:
The last picture, shows how all the plexi edges will look when I add the leds.
What do you think? Comments are welcome!

Update 26 – Feets part 3 @ Thursday the 31st May2007.
Intro
Wee, ready with another update! ;) Well, first off, I would really like more light to come out from the holes, so need to mount a cathode under, or fix some leds or so. I’ll find out. ;)
Tomorrow i start soldering leds, we need some light in it right? :P. I think when the fridge’s in again, the tubing make it look less sqared.
The funny part
All right, here we start, a 50*50mm alu piece.
First thing to do on the alu piece: mill down one of the corners.
Then mill down the fist side!
Last part to mill.
That’s what I’m talking about baby.
Then some cutting.
Done and perfect ;)
This is the way the mounting works, hope you can see the idea ;) The holes fit with the holes in the bottom plate.

Re: Project: NLM.
Like this.
Then mounting them.
Damn, that’s great.
You’ve seen those pictures before, and i decided to got with the mesh.
The holes got drilled.
What do you think?
Some pictures in dark.
Bad that the fans didn’t gave more light. But I’ll fix that, just wait ;)
Now this is what I need to do on the feets. Give the edge some paint and add these felt guys because we don’t want any scratches in the surface it’s on right`? ;)
Hope you liked it! Cya!

Update 27 – Hdd finished and new screws @ Thursday the 14st June 2007.
Intro
Finally I’ve got a update ready. Not as huge as I promised, I had some problems with my leds, but now I’ve ordered some new, and they should fix my problem. They should arrive on Monday.
But here I’ll bring you a update about my haddrive, I’ll test it tomorrow, and I hope I still works :D
Lets take a look:
The funny part
First of all, I had to fix the edges on the mesh.
Here’s the hdd’s top after milling and painting.
And the plexi that’s going to make sure that no dust will go into the harddrive.
Fixing the silicon.
Drilling holes in the case. They are going to hold the harddrive.
And drilling holes in the plexi, we want space for the screwheads right? :P
Fixing the spacers ;)
And then:
And then the next point in this update, you see those screws? I like to change them.
I’ve just received those with the post.
Amazing right? I think it looks so much better!
Tomorrow I’ll start working on the pump mount, stay tuned :bannana:

mercerman318 @ thank you :)
Update 28 – Pump mounting @ Saturday the 16st June 2007.
Intro
Not much to tell about this update. I’ve been working on the pump, I really didn’t feel like I wanted to mod the pumps, so I decided to go the easy way, and create a cover. It turned out really good if you ask me. The whole motherboard will be covered with this kind of mesh, so don’t tell me that it don’t fit into the mod, because it’ll look amazing with the mobo cover. Just stay with me and you will see in a couple of updates.
The funny part
Here’s the pump we’ll be working with, a Laing DCC-plus
After a lot of thoughts I, I did find this solution as the best.
Then getting the mounting pieces ready. 2 washers, 2 home made vibration-killers and 2 of those awesome screws :D
And then, this is how it looks. BUT I just didn’t like it because the white don’t fit the mod.
Then I draw up the cover I wanted to create.
This is how it turned out.
Lets put it in place:
Damn I LIKE it!
And the some closeups ;)
