Anyone here use BSD?
Just curious if anyone here uses BSD? I've been trying to Google around for more information on BSD but can't seem to find anything regarding running it at home on a desktop. Was wondering if anyone could point me towards some good, informative websites.

Search for FreeBSD instead. (Apple's OS is based off of FreeBSD btw...)

Re: Anyone here use BSD?
I was there earlier but wasn't sure were to go. I got the impression it was meant more for server applications.
Does BSD come in pre-configured distro's like Linux or is it something that you really have to set up on your own like using one of the more advanced Linux distro's such as Slackware and Gentoo? I'm not sure why I'm so interested I've just had the urge to try new things lately and Xubuntu's been getting boring.
Apple actually used to release binaries for the Darwin project which contained most of the back end stuff to OS X minus the their window manager and desktop environment/applications. I remember trying to install it on my old iBook. Now they just release source and don't really keep up with it from what I've read. It was cool for a while that they were at least pretending to give back to the BSD community.
Edit: Should i try to separate it mentally from linux or are the two as similar as i've been lead to beleive?
