Re: Which operating system do you use?
Just an update I have installed Fedora 8 on my new laptop, for the time being it is dual booting between Vista and Fedora. I only really use the Fedora install though, only use Vista if I have to. I must note that I have better wireless internet under Fedora than i ever did with Vista, keep in mind that the Gateway was intended to run Vista.
Re: Which operating system do you use?
Another random tip for Vista, if you're having problems with wireless networks (or any networks), go into adapter properties and disable TCP/IPv6 as it looks for that first (and sometimes doesn't look for TCP/IPv4). I've had a good amount of success after doing that as I had wireless problems.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out next time I feel like booting Vista.
Re: Which operating system do you use?
I use Vista on both my laptop, and its not a bad OS. Just needs some polishing, but it does what I want. Light gaming, internet browsing, media viewing. I'm more familier with XP, but I had to upgrade at some point, so i got Vista anyway so I can get used to it.
Works for me, anyway lol
Re: Which operating system do you use?
I haven't seen you yet, so welcome to the forums Katosen!
I know I already posted, but it's time for an update. I used to be mostly XP, light Ubuntu (bad wireless support). Not anymore! I just got the new Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64 release and I'm loving it! Wireless out of the box, Firefox 3 Beta 5 out of the box, and more. Bye bye XP (for now at least).
Re: Which operating system do you use?
i use mostly ubuntu..... hardy heron 8.04... but seeing as i only have my g/fs laptop right now i have to keep vista on there... so i got it setup for a dual boot... on my xbox tho...
i run windows CE... Xubuntu Gentoox xDSL and Dyne Bolic
im thinking of putting a modified version of BSD on there aswell....
all the OS's on my xbox r there just to see if i could get them to run properly... i usualy just use it for games... (yay for switchable bios) xDSL is very useful tho when i want to surf the net while she has the computer...
