I'm getting some strange noise when my speakers are plugged in with nothing playing and the volume on, that goes away as soon as i mute the sound in windows.... WTH?
Is your cell phone near them?
I wish it where that simple. If it helps the diagnosis, touching the cable from the speakers will change the amount of noise, lets just call it static for simplicity's sake.
If it helps i didnt notice it when i had a dedicated sound card, but the one that i got from a member here shortly after i joined as a freebie finally kicked it. Could it just be an onboard issue? but why would i get it only from onboard and not a dedicated card, is there anything i can do to fix it?
can you try the speakers with another PC? It very well could be that the onboard audio is bad.
Or you could be getting some interference...
