Watercooled Lian Li V2000B
Ok, so I have seen some of the worklogs that go on here and you guys are probably gonna laugh your ass off at this attempt at a worklog. First off, it doesn't really have any amazing mods at all, and secondly, I have already finished the PC so I am merely going to cut and paste from another forum. Other than that though I did spend at least SOME time doing this pc, and I like it a lot! Here we go then!
First off specs are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.8Ghz
eVGA 8800GTX @ 651/1680/2100
Gigabyte P35-DS4 Rev. 2.0
2x2GB G.Skill DDR2-1000
A very big box!
Opening it up...
I have to say I have never owned a lian li before so this was a new experience...
Out the packaging
The internals
All I have to say so far is this is a very very nice looking case which is pretty damn huge!
Re: Watercooled Lian Li V2000B
Ok, so I ordered a Lian Li case, but you can't have a v2000b without a pa120.3!!! :D
Here she is!!
I have a PA120.2 atm, but the size difference is amazing :D
I then started stripping the internals of the case to make way for the radiator...HDD racks out first
Then the rivets holding the psu support bracket were drilled out and the rear PSU panel flipped over
I also wanted a nice place to stick my reservoir. I was thinking about using a bay reservoir again but tbh I have grown sick of the bubbles that I get using my danger den one, so I opted for an EK Multires 150. Here it is mounted in the case (sorry for bad picture).
This thread will continue as I get more parcels (CHRISTMAS AGAIN!!!! :D) and get more work done. This post is just the start! Still need to do some more cutting; the fillport hole needs to be cut, the hole for the grill + radiator in the bottom and a window in the sidepanel will all be coming soon.
Re: Watercooled Lian Li V2000B
Just a few small updates today; got some stuff in the post and did a little cutting.
I moved the rear wheels of the case back about an inch to allow room for the radiator grill. Simple case of drilling and re-tapping the hole.
I then made the hole in the roof of the case for the fillport.
Flawless victory :P
Tommorow the bottom of the case comes out (almost finished that today, but will continue with that tommorow) and I will get the sidepanel cut out for you guys too.
Cheers
Re: Watercooled Lian Li V2000B
Ok guys time for an update, doing this from a laptop atm as I am currently moving all my bits into the case.
First off today I finished cutting the hole in the bottom of the case
With the grill installed
I then decided to attack my sidepanel :P So I masked it all up with tape
And some quick mockup pics of what it will look like, the panel itself came out nice, I was happy with it:
Here is the thermochill PA120.3 installed.
I will get better pictures of the panel and components tommorow when I will try and finish the damn PC!!!!
Pz out:nerd:
Re: Watercooled Lian Li V2000B
AAAAAAAAAAAND its pretty much finished, just waiting on some primochill coils to arrive tommorow and I will take the final shots for you.
So, what I did today, all the cutting etc was done so it was just a matter of installing the components and doing the cables...
HDD's in
Mobo in!
Mobo + res + gfx in!
A bit messy in my living room atm
Starting to add all the tubing, and hose clip them down
The stuff I will be filling it up with (looks like wee wee, right?)
And what it currently looks like!
I hope you enjoyed this short (but hopefully sweet) build log, I may be back tommorow with some properly shot pics with the coils on, gonna look sexy I hope!!! :P
Re: Watercooled Lian Li V2000B
