The TBCS Overclocking Thread
This thread is basically so you can brag about your overclocks with your computer.
List of overclocks:
Indybird: C2D E6850 @3.604GHz(400x9) w/ 1.475v | 2GB OCZ DDR2-800 @ 4-4-4-12 w/1.9v | Idle 40c, Load 52c
progbuddy: Pent D 915 @3.218GHz(230x14) w/1.272v | 1GB PQI Turbo DDR2-745 @ 4-4-4-12 w/2.0v | Idle 40c Load 55c
Exley: C2D E6600 @ 2.702GHz(300x9) w/1.3375 | 2GB DDR2-1066 @ 5-5-5-15w/2.0v | Idle 35c Load 53c
crenn: C2Q Q6600 @ 2.997GHz (333x9) w/1.35 | 2GB OCZ DDR2-667 @ 5-5-5-15 w/1.8v | Idle 35c Load 61c
learning2mod: C2D @ 3.967GHz (440x9) w/1.5 | 2GB DDR2-1099 @ 5-5-4-12 w/2.3v | Idle 44c Load 60c.
You must provide your rig setup and a picture of CPU-Z or Core Temp with you CPU at the said speed. Also try to include a picture of the RAM settings as well. Also include idle and load temps (load temps must be measured after orthos runs on small FFT (stress the CPU) for 10-20 minutes). All cores must be at 100% for the load temp to be valid. Also the system has to be stable ;)
Please provide the following:
CPU Name
Clock Speed
CPU Volts
Idle Temps
Load Temps
Cooling Method (Air, Water, TEC, Phase, LN2)
Heatsink/Waterblock Model
Motherboard
RAM (Amount and Brand)
RAM Speed (Can be done through CPUz)
RAM Timings
RAM Voltage
Operating System
Happy Overclocking

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
CPU: Intel Pentium D 915 Presler
Stock Speed: 2.80 GHz
Current Speed: 3.20 GHz
Voltage: 1.28 V
Cooler: Stock HSF
Multiplier: 14.0
Idle Temp: 40 C
Load Temp: 55 C
RAM: 1 GB PQI Turbo DDR2 667 (OC to 745)
Timings: 4-4-4-12
Voltage: Stock (2.0 V)
And for some reason, my CPU likes to change its clock multiplier in accordance to [some] load.

If you want get people to list all the bits on there, that way it gives a good idea of an achievable overclock with their cooling and other kit.
I can update it easily, and if we end up with loads it would be easy to manage rearrange, order etc.
Good idea. How about we have 2 versions? A clickable link to a detailed spread sheet and also the summary up there!

Can you please run CPU-Z? (Link provided in the first post)

Sure. Just have to get it under a load to get the multiplier up...
EDIT::
annnnd done.
oh, and btw, which is the CPU voltage control? What other names could it be under? I'm havin' a hard time finding it...

As the image will change so will the link, so if i just re-edit my post to update the spread sheet, or i could put it in it's own thread but the mod's might not like that.
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Well, because the image is going to change (knew that already), and we're only updating the spread sheet, keep the same file name!
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Huh?
The file won't change...
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
I added ram timings and the cooler to mine. By the way, CPU-Z is not showing the right voltage...
-Indybird
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
That's normal for the C2Ds
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Stock: 266 x 9 = 2400MHz
Overclock: 300 x 9 = 2700MHz
Voltage: 1.33v
Cooler: Stock
Idle: 35c
Load: 53c (WOOT! cold day in August )
Damn you guys for pulling me back into overclocking, with load temps that low i might tweak my voltage and try to hit the magic 3.0
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Can i have your heatsink, ram speed, ram timings and your ram voltage too :)
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
I added my RAM voltage. Also, I've gotten better Idle & Load temps: 34C/46C. Last time I checked in 95 Degree weather...
By the way, nice job of maintaining this thread. +rep

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Cheers.
Im debating.
Should the Core 2 Duos all be together so all the C2Ds (not quads) be in one list? or Should each different one have it's own list, so it's easier to compare so all E6600s together etc?
And then do the same with AMDs and Older intels?
So it would be...
Core 2 Quad
Core 2 Duo
Pentium D / Pentium Dual-core
Pentium 4 and older.
Or something like:
Core 2 Quads
QX6850
QX6800
QX6700
Q6700
Q6600
etc, etc...
Same for AMD but their types of course.
If that makes sense, good. If not then i didn't expect it too really.

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
So far I like the way you have it. I'd divide it like this:
AMD Dual Core
AMD Single Core
Intel Single Core
Intel Dual Core
Intel Quad Core

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Yea, easier that way too :p
edit:
Sexy neat tables
Now thats maintainment(that's not even a word is it...) :D

List updated
I've included mine without a screenshot yet >.>;

sorry forgot ram its 5-5-5-15 timings at 2.0v. also you have my cpu voltage reported as 1.44, just wanted to clarify its actuly 1.3375 as reported by my nvidia monitor
Edit: after playing around a bit i think my idle/load temps were off. My average is about 40/57 when running dual prime95s. This was mesured with intel's thermal analysis tool (TAT)

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
If that was directed @ me this is it:
ASUS P5B deluxe
Mushkin XP8500@something...changes daily somewhere around 1000-1060
E6600 @ 3.7....
8800GTs320 really overclocked
ALL WATER KOOLED
storm CPU block (modified)
MCW60 GPU
MCW30 chipset block

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
SWEET setup *drools*
Sorry to be a pain can i get your idle and load temps too, along with your RAM voltage, forgot those
ill update it tommorrow for you.

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
The run I did the ram was @ 2.2v I normally have it set @ 2.3 and I go as high as 1250mhz while benchmarking.
The Vcore was set @ 1.45v
My idle temps are 44c and load is 60c Thats kooling the NB,GPU&CPU w/one loop w/ a PA120.1&PA120.3 and a swiftech 655 pump on setting 4.
this weekend I am going over to J33Pownrs house and I think I can break the 1 min mark. TRY* if the contest last that long look for higher scores.

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Well the super pi contest doesn't have any prizes, but it is quite fun. But no wonder why you're doing better than me!
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Ahh...........I need new/faster ram to compete with that setup!
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Same here! And a new CPU cooler as well.
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
I need a Q6600....and a 680i board:p
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
lol, you can't have mine!
And I've found the P35 chipset is still very good. The limiting factor for me is the HSF and RAM.

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Ill trade you mobo's straight up. :D

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
We have SOOOOOOO hijacked this thread....And NO I dont want your board...been there done that...should I upload a PIC of the "meltdown wall":dead:

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
progbuggy i dont mean to be an ass... but if u dont know what names ya cpu voltage might be under.. u shouldnt be overclocking... doo some more research.... google is ya friend..

Turns out i don't have voltage controls ^^;;. Found out that right around 3.4 GHz is the max...

Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Just updating w/more overclocks to keep scotty & crenn busy when they wake up
-
Re: The TBCS Overclocking Thread
Far too busy. lol.
Updated the lists and you are now on top.
We need some AMD overclockers, we have none. Atall.
