browsers dictate crappy ping? HELP?
google chrome speedtest.net same spot, san fransisco ca hosted by unwired.
internet explorer
any idea why?
i have a bigfoot killer 2100 NIC, and they are both set to maximum data allowance through the manager.... could it have something to do with flash being built in to chrome, where as internet explorer it isn't?
i hate to have to think of considering to use internet explorer over one thing, but... damn. :whistler:
Re: browsers dictate crappy ping? HELP?
firefox
opera
i hate to say this, but unless i can be sure the problem is only flash related, i may have to go to firefox or opera....
why not internet explorer?
that doesn't even deserve an answer, you know why.
Re: browsers dictate crappy ping? HELP?
Something like 95% of response time is due to outside servers taking their sweet time to forward your packets. Is options>under the hood>"Help make Google Chrome better by automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports to Google." checked? Perhaps chrome is anonymously phoning home instead of taking the quickest route to destination? Uncheck that option and try again.
Without the performance metrics on screen, is the 7ms really noticeable? I would assume average page loads take a lot longer than 7ms...
