Thanks!
A minor update tonight :D
I got this neat LCD screen from TGS's Great Giveaway.
I proceeded to dismantle it.
And mark out what needed to be cut from the front panel
And cut and drilled:
I also cut out the hole for the power cable. The notch on the topside is where I'll feed the USB/serial cable through for the LCD screen.
I marked for the front panel USB ports:
And cut and drilled:
I then proceeded to paint my 120mm intake and 80mm exhaust fan blades. I only took pics of the 120mm one for now as the 80mm was black and didn't come out nearly as nice.
Here it is next to the same 120mm NZXT fan:
And back in it's housing:
Now for the interior. I was going to leave it with the torn/peeling wallpaper-ish stuff, but it flakes off more every time I do something, so I dug through my mom's pile of different fabrics (she handmakes blankets, pillows, teddy bears, etc.) and found this plaid looking fabric. I'm thinking of using spray adhesive to glue it to the entire inside. Anyone have any opinions before I glue it? Yay? Nay?
Spray adhesive should work just fine. That's how some newer upholstery is done. Just follw the directions for fabrics. Oh, the fan blades look great.
As far as the color should be great. It goes with the theme and has a retro/vintage look.
You wouldn't happen to be watercooling this, would you? The brass fillport would look great in this, especially if you paired it with a stripped radiator. :D
no no wc for this, the hardware doesn't need it and I don't have the budget lol
lol, it reminds me of a picnic basket. or a farmer's shirt. take your pick :D
I thought I posted this already but I don't see it?? Maybe I forgot to hit the button to post it.
Here is an idea for the inside of the case. If you want an easy way to cover the inside you can use a flocking powder that will give you the finished result of a felt liner.
Lots of colors to pick from and easy to apply.
You just put adhesive on the surface and sprinkle the powder from a can and it sticks to all the glue. Done.
You can do a web search for flocking materials and get all the info. It might give you a really clean look inside the case.
that sounds like a neat idea, I'll have to check it out. Thanks! +rep
