Re: Pumpkin Carving Contest 2010
I'll gladly donate a grab bag of switches and other odds and ends that I originally got from Paul Capello. One for each winning entry. If I happen to win, I'll have Curtis do a drawing.
Also, is this wide open or regular members only?
Re: Pumpkin Carving Contest 2010
Its open to all but I am restricting it to Registered members only and they need to have at least 10 post.

Re: Pumpkin Carving Contest 2010
A night photo isn't going to do mine justice. I need to post a vid instead. Is that going to be acceptable?
Re: Pumpkin Carving Contest 2010
Yes videos are allowed. Did you steal my idea?
Re: Pumpkin Carving Contest 2010
Here's my entry for this year. It is not even close to as creepy as last year's was, but the actual carving is much better.
Hope this isn't too many pictures. It is really hard to capture all the angles of this properly with just one or two.

I have no idea. But I wouldn't be surprised if we're thinking along the same lines.
Re: Pumpkin Carving Contest 2010
Ok So I had planned on entering a Darth Vader Bust with the Death Star in the Background (all on one pumpkin) but ruined it on Vader's mask. After 2 hours invested in it, I did not feel like starting over. So I will simply enter my other carving.
I give you Yoda!
So if you are wondering how I gave him the green glow keep reading.
Just proof that it is mine. Anyone who has seen my reviews or other pics will recognize my workbench.
So I utilized the LED rainbow kit I received a few months back from PCboard.ca It is a LED driver board that is based off of a PIC microconroller and pre loaded with plenty of lighting effects. The LED strips are also from PCBoard.ca and each contain 2 RGB 1watt LEDS for a total of 6 Watts on the whole string.
Here you can see how I have them in the pumpkin. Bent paper clips secure the LED Strips to the pumpkin.
And finally a shot from the top with the LEDS lit up.
I forgot to take a photo with my name on a piece of paper but I think my workbench in the background is enough to confirm its mine.
Re: Pumpkin Carving Contest 2010
I have gotten a few request that we extend the contest by 1 day so please submit all entries by Midnight tomorrow CST.
