@crazybillybob
the rifle is done by both,
-the body (wood) is cut by a saw, shaped by a dremel clone and a rasp / file
-i put some polyurethane foam on it and cut it by knife
-to make the shape plain i used the auto body filler
-now i made the holes for the iron and the ccfl (with my dremel and a milling cutter tool) i mount it and fix it with some auto body filler
-paint preparing with wood primer i paint by brush
paintjob (done by brush)
-after preparing, i masked with the black tape (real insulating tape but it worked for me)
-i paint it with some watercolor but it doen't work well the paint become crack and so i tryed the clear the color with a wet towel (the cloudy pics are the result)...
-so i decided to paint over with my email color
-after demasking, i paint the masked area
-now some finetuning with my eddings and this jig
but the jig was to big to use it, i could only exert it for the black dots on the top side
hope u catch it

Re: ut2k7
nice assortment of colors and brushes... wish i had a collection as big as you :)
if i'm not too indiscreet, what do you do in real life? designer? architect? :) cause you have some cool tools :)
also, the project is coming along nicely.

Re: ut2k7
Thanks, that helps.
For help in the future Clear coat fogs if there is to much moisture in it. With all that spackle and then using water colors you'll have to wait for days for it to dry out enough not to fog.
What techniques do you use when painting? (dry brush, washes, etc) can you give us some examples of where you used them, and how to do it (this way we can learn how to give our mods that little extra that make them look really good!)
The pic of the tools and paints helped clear up some questions. Keep up the good work.
