True that:) Also,... I have posted alot fo offtopic stuff such as spongebob, and dinner with my gurl. When something goes wrong on another forum and I post my problem else where seeking opinions,... it's offtopic and moaning. Hmmm. I havent checked the threads for leaking yet. They wont leak. There are a million things I can do to keep them from leaking. Thanks for asking:)

Ok,... here's what I got done the other day.
My EPower Tagan 480W PSU. This thing is heavy as hell. Thats all I have to say about it, atleast right now.
Inside. Nice HUGE heatsinks:)
Looks like I have to do some desoldering to get the power connector and switch out.
I got the power connector free. Now it's time for the switch.
Quick question,... You see the two big globs at the bottom. The one on the left is touching the two little pins and the one on the right is not. Does this matter? I dont think it does but what do I know:)
Removed.
Is it me is this some sloppy soldering?
Here I am going to cut out the bottom the case inside the taped area.
Done. I cut it out because I am going to mount a bracket plate there. Surprising enough,... the case is still sturdy and this is without the sides on:)
PSU mounting plate cut to size.
This is where it's going to go. Now,... I think I might raise it up off the bottom of the case using a couple of washers. This way air can get out through there. Either that or I will drill holes or cut grooves in the plate where there is free space.
This is how I will probably have it arranged.
I have to figure out what I am generally trying to accomplish before I go any futher. I will draw some diagrams.
Re: TRIBALOVERKILL, "Blackout" Updated--> 06/24/05
looks like they are reinforcing trace lines with solder. I would put that back together and take it back, almost looks like a refurbused PSU.

The Traces (the large dark blue areas around the pins) look fine, It just looks like they were not taking any chances and Over soldered everything. It is done sometimes on High load devices (one that may get hot enough to start making thin solder go to the plastic level (plastic is a pliable state just prior to melting))
If it was a Refub you would have a lot of cooked flux near the solder joints there is none in the pic that I could see and there is no dark spots on the board. I'd say it's fine they just went overboard soldering.

Couldnt send it back if I wanted too. I had it for awhile now. It runs fine. I was just noting the sloppiness I would have never settled for:)
Re: TRIBALOVERKILL, "Blackout" Updated--> 06/24/05
Here's how I think I will mount my PSU. I like it but seems bit much. The thing is I to upgrade easily. This design will aloow that so I think I'm all for it. I still havent drawn up a plan for the other ares of the PSU because I had a busy night. I am going to do it now. Let me know what you think.
The arms dont lift. All the pieces have square edges unlike the reservoir arm which lifts. These stay flat against the bracket and only do two things,... slide around on the bracket, slide back and forth(the extension arm), and turn. It will be very strudy although it doesnt really matter because we're talking about a PSU here.
Re: TRIBALOVERKILL, "Blackout" Updated--> 06/24/05
Small update. I didnt finish the PSU mounting plate. I finished most of it, I just didnt drill the hole to mount the mounting plate. I think I have to sand it some more, I think I lefted some spots. I was kind of rushing:) To the pics,...
This is what I WAS going to use as power rails for my PSU and all it's sleeved power wires. I was informed by another member(Starbuck3733T) that it might not be thick enough for that much juice. Thanks for looking out after my PSU starbuck :wink:. I am going to use a thicker copper pipe. I'm going to most likely smash it and then fold it,... then smash it some more! The idea is to achieve a nice thick strip. More on that when I get to it. Moving on,...
Heres the plate mapped out and ready for the drill. Once I drill holes for the scroll saw blades,... It will be time to use,... the scroll saw! I'm so smart. LOL.
Heres the first track thing cut out.
Heres all of them cut out and ready for filing:(
Done! Wow,... that was some fast filing! Whoa. I saned too! I'm fast:D It's looks just like the drawing:D Well,... except the middle track is shorter. I decided to make is shorter because it doesnt need ot be so long. Plus when its long like that it weakens the plate alot! I could fold it in half if I kept that track long.
This is where its going to go. I think I will raise it up off the case with wsahers though as I said before. Looks sweet. Can't wait to make the arms tomorrow:)

It did, LOL. My one arm is RIPPED!!! I tried alternating but the left arm is challenged when it comes to thing like throwing balls, writing, filling custom computer parts, etc. You know:) I broke out the dremel at one point to grind away the majority of what I thought to be a tiny amount of slack. It was it just took forever to file it away with thos tiny arse files!!! They coulsnt have made them a bit thicker and wider and longer :mad:!
Re: TRIBALOVERKILL, "Blackout" Updated--> 06/24/05
Now I remember why I gave up metal work..... both filing and sanding. But it was more fun than Studio Arts!
