Yeah i meant the pusher fan but i guess you already cleared up my question in your last post. I was just asking because i thought i saw a mod somewhere were they made a port for the pusher fan and i wasn't sure if you had to make one or not.

Well I had a change of heart with the direction I want to go with this project. I'm gonna just do a nice simple rounded rectangle plexi window. I'm also gonna drill into the plexi so my pusher fan can suck air from directly above, like luciusad's theory (even though it is not necessary). The Hitachi drive will still be swapped with a Samsung, and the Samsung and side covers/HDD will be painted with some color changing paint. Still debating about the ghost flames, since I have people that owe me money.
And lately I've been sick and tired of asking nicely and not getting any responses, online or in school. Basically, I loned over $200 because I'm so nice and not a dickhead; $40 of it was gas money!1
k no more ranting. Plans:
Rounded Rectangle Plexi Window
Fan Vent in Plexi
Custom Fan Cover
Color-Change Paint
Hitachi-Samsung Swap
Samsung DVD Cover
Kewl! I Didn't know you could upgrade the internals like that. +Rep
Looks Perfect! When I get a 360 I'm gonna send it to you for an Upgrade :D
:D Sounds good. I'll also be doing the plexi soon, hopefully.
Edit: In fact, I also moved that sensor inside again. It was close enough before, but not close enough. Every time it lost the signal, the fan speed controller would shut off and then come back on in a few seconds. I relocated it two days ago and it stays on now.
Sweet Stuff you got here.
Well so far you chipped the XBOX(by yourself, i got mine professionally installed :p .)
And now you modded a brand-new XBOX Elite:banana:
+rep.
Thanks to everyone so far. I really appreciate all the positive feedback. I have a 4-day weekend, and I might work 8-2 tomorrow instead of 11-5 so I can get home earlier. I may map out my cuts for the lid, maybe paint it too.
This is another idea I came up with; I don't think anybody has done this yet. This is a shot of the panel that you can have the 360 stand up on. Drei sechzig will always be on its side, so what better to be the first, to my knowledge, to have a window on the side of a 360?
I trimmed the cage, too.
Prepping the underside by getting rid of all of those tabs:
Here you can see the lines.
Pilot hole.
Tried the finest bit I had with a jigsaw, doing a practice cut. I didn't like how rough it looked on the other side; either side.
Also, the "o" in xbox pops out; I bet no one knew that, cause I didn't.
So I instead drew my idea on the finished side, because pencil is pretty easy, suprisingly, to rub off of the case. Definitely a "do not try this at home to your own elite because your parents will kill you" shot. Luckily, my parents know that I know what I'm doing, otherwise it wouldn't of got new fans. :D
Aaaand....the all-famous modder's shot.
Now I need to make a new sig...

Llamma.com offers the service of doing the Blue Ring of Lights for $49; looks like I saved myself $49.
Ok, the work in progress shots:
Start with a 15 watt soldering gun, 0603 SMD Blue LEDs, solder (I used .015 dia 1 oz solder), and some patience.
Sorry I didn't go too in-depth about this part, didn't really need to. Rlatively a simple mod as long as you've soldered once before.
And it looks great and will match everything else blue. (Test shot, this is only a test.)
Finished shot:
All that's left is my controller, but I need to order more LEDs.
BLUE LIGHTS!!! I LOVE BLUE LIGHTS!
Any ways i like the Idea for having a window on the side, very different, I've certainly never seen any one put a window in the side. +rep
Edit: Sry would have been a plus rep but i have to "spread it around some more" So you get one of my counterfeit reputation points.
Haha, that's cool with me.
Guess what you get? ANOTHER UPDATE!!1!one!2!!1
I cut the lid with a jigsaw.
Plan for the plexi:
I did a rough cut on purpose,
so I could file it down without worrying about taking off too much with the initial cut.
All filed and smooth.
Time for the pexi, but
it doesn't sit even.
So I filed and cut more tabs underneath.
aaand in between battery charges of my camera, I found out that the plexi was too thick. I need something thin enough to willingly bend with the contours and the shape of the 360 lid, and something that won't be crushed against my heatsink when put all back together. So for now, I put it back together without any plexiglass to check it out and to play some Halo 2 before I call it a night.
ssssssssSOOO sexy!!
This side window idea is gonna work like a charm!
