Re: I need help with watercooling

any pre-made "Kit" is going to be making sacrifices in order to be a "one-size-fits-all" application made within only certain company partnerships.

Re: Replace GROUND with 5v in Rheostat?

Most fans require a certain minimum voltage to turn ON, which may not be the same as the minimum voltage to keep it running. This is the POP-ON voltage. I want to set up my rheostats to only allow...

Replace GROUND with 5v in Rheostat?

What would happen if I re-wired a rheostat to take advantage of the +5v line instead of the Ground?

    Let's say I use the Sunbeam fan-controller:

    But, I didn't...

  10. Sketchup - Anyone have a completed motherboard?

    Watercooling with All Copper Piping?

Has anyone ever done or seen a watercooling setup that used copper piping instead of the "plastic" tubing?

It would require lots of planning, but it would dissapate a ton of heat.

    Thoughts?

Re: Switch in water cooling unit

There are a lot of 120v / 240v pumps out there. 12v DC pumps are a new thing.

Look for something like a wall-mount light switch. And be careful.

Re: Because we need power under water

Pure, distilled water, yes. I see. That is non-conductive.

But that is also one of those that degrades over time and has been known to pick up conductive properties after a while.

Re: Because we need power under water

Well, not that I was thinking it would "spill" out. :lick:

But, many people have tried to use non-conductive fluids, but only to find out that over time they degrade and become semi-conductive....

McMaster-Carr sells some pretty powerful, large fans. Some DC powered, some AC powered.

Also, there are some 6.75" fans at www.Sofasco.com.

I think I've settled on the Thermaltake Toughpower 650W Modular.
