  1. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

I raise this thread from the dead.. AGAIN! I'm going to get a necromancer badge, honestly..
  2. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

....and the thread is resurrected again!

    So what's new for me?

Still working for an MSP in western Canada, we are growing like MAD. Having a huge corporate backing can do that. ;)

    My boys...
  3. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

    cool.
  4. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

I've got the same laptop, but without the Nvidia graphics. I find that running the turbo boost makes a massive difference in performance; I'm often running a couple of VM's on mine during the day...
  5. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

It's sure great to see so many familiar names are still around!

This site certainly has changed since my last visit, so it's good to have a bit of familiarity to it.

    Ok, so... TBCS vintage...
  6. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

Also, how do I still have more posts than Airbozo? I'm still 7th overall for post count here!!!
  7. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

We should start a private thread for us "Senior Members" and start discussing this! :)
  8. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

Agreed... who's gonna build it? I don't have the time or the skill to generate that kind of traffic, but I could donate towards something awesome. :)
  9. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

    Time flies!

Architecture.. very cool! :) Having kids is a pretty wild experience.. it certainly shifts your priorities around!
  10. Re: So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

Working for an IT consulting company; money is decent, culture/benefits are great, close to home, and I'm home every night. Cant beat that when you have young kids. :)

    Living in Red Deer, right...

    Apparently I joined in 2006. :)
  12. So who's still around from the old days (pre 2010) ?

    Hey TBCS,

    Long time no talk!

Just thought I'd stop in and see what's up. The site is certainly different than I remember!

I see some of the old dogs are still around AIRBOZO! :)

Re: How do you guys type?

I type with the fury. :)

Spiceworks ran a typing speed competition thread a few weeks ago, and I was averaging 92wpm. ;)

The leader was over 120wpm if I recall correctly. :)
  14. Re: Perhaps the good people of TBCS can help me figure out what the hell is going on.

I was thinking power issue.. memory was my second thought.

When the system crashes, do you get any info from the bsod? Have you tried opening the dump file to see what is reported as the failing...
  15. Re: Will Sound-Producing Semiconductors Ever be Feasible?

Even electrostatic panels have limitations in regards to output at certain frequencies, and almost all of them use a supplemental cone based woofer for the lower frequencies.

    I dont think it's...

Re: I fixed my laptop with a blow/hair dryer !

I figured I'd chime back in on this topic also..

All of the ones I reflowed ended up failing again. It's simply too big of a thermal load for the cooling system to dissipate, and once it's been...

    Re: Wife wants an Xbox

I have the 4gb model, and it's constantly out of space. Even the free demos on Xbox live are upwards of 700mb, most are over 1gb.

If you get the 4gb model, you can purchase the drive separately...

Re: Recommendations for a New Television Set?

I cant say enough good things about Sharp either! My 37" Aquos is now 6+ years old, and still looks as good as the day it was new! And I bought it because it was the best picture in the whole...
