Re: Online Retailer charging tax for using IE7

You've missed the point. That's what this is - just a tongue in cheek way of doing so.

Re: Online Retailer charging tax for using IE7

The fact that we have a centralised standards body in the W3C and the fact that browsers are finally striving to meet those standards now is why this won't happen.
  7. Re: Another example of Geek Squad ripping people off!

There's almost no margin on a standard computer these days, the extras (and ****ing people around) are how this sort of place makes money...

Re: Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

My dad was a builder until he had a brain injury at 29 that almost killed him - he recovered fully but on doctor's advice he took something less strenuous. He went to college and did some IT...

Re: Top security software for a business?

Panda is known as some of the worst security software to have ever existed. Almost non-existent detection rate - if you need a full package, look at kaspersky.

start with microsoft security essentials and go from there - it's free and plays well in a windows environment and is surprising quite good. If you want to invest in something more from there,...

  15. Re: Did anyone here go to college while working a full time job?

I worked 25 hours a week through uni... even without being full time, it's hard, but it's doable. You really, really need to get your head down - say goodbye to a social life for a little while!

  24. Re: Whats more useful in a power supply: 6+2 or 6 pin connectors.

I've owned about 4 good quality (£50+) power supplies in a row without a single issue. I've ripped a dozen dead OEM power supplies out of other peoples' systems in that time.

    All the old PSUs...
  25. Re: Whats more useful in a power supply: 6+2 or 6 pin connectors.

IMO that's a LOT of money to spend on a PSU. For most computers, any more than 10% of your budget is a bit mad, you usually need 4 GPU cores to need a 1000w PSU - spend about 100 on a good quality...
