It doesn't sound like a physical issue. It sounds to me like your mpeg2 codec might be messed up. Does it crash while in the menus or while it's actually playing?

I did a google search on your error code. The error seems to come from nvidia drivers not liking asus boards. Install the latest drivers for your motherboard & see if that fixes your problem.

Dust doesn't cause a problem unless it's mixed with smoke or pet hair. Both of those two mixed with high volumes of dust can cause components to overheat or fans to burn out.
