    Default Project: Shark

Hello once again boys and girls. I'm starting up a new project today . Before I get to the pics, here's a little info about the project.

For starters, the case I'm using is the Thermaltake Shark. I loved the look of the front, the great features, and the fact that it's a full tower and I plan on watercooling this. If you didn't already get it, the name of the project comes from the case :p. Anyways, for this case I'm not theming it at all. I just want a semi-normal looking computer, with a sleek design and minimal color variation. That brings me to the next part. For the colors, I'm sticking with the stock case: black case, blue lighting (some may say it's overdone and cliche, but I think it's easier on the eyes than all the devil red and black or multicolor rave cases). There may be a little silver thrown in, but it won't be the focus of the colors. For the design, like I said, I want sleek, and simple-yet-complex. I like the curves on the case, and I'm designing most of the windows/aesthetic mods on curves. There will be blue plexi, black metal, and blue water. For lighting, I'm keeping that to a minimal/average amount, partly because I don't want to waste electricity and partly because I don't want to rival the sun. No CCFLs for this, LEDs is what I'll be using. I'm still working on some 3D designs of the case, and I'll post those once I can make them :p. But for now, on with the pictures.

Here's the case. I like the look of the front door, but it's a little plain for me. Plus, like I said this will be black and blue, so that silver thing on the side has got to go. As you'll see down more, it doesn't really fit with what I'm using anyways.

Started to work on the front panel. Took it all apart.

Here's that silver thing. Needs to go.

It will be replaced by this stuff. Yes, it is gutter guard, but it's nice and strong.

Here's the other portion of the front panel.

It will be covered something like this.

    The back.

The plates slide on and off. Pretty handy

Replacing the silver thing is this. After not even .3 seconds with a Dremel, the cutting disk broke so I cut all of what you'll see with snips.

    Mock up.

Painted black. I like it better like this.

    Dried. New mock up.

Areas marked for cutting for the big portion of the front panel.

After a long tedious time with the snips, I get this.

Kept them connected at the bottom. Easier to get on and off.

Another mock up. The big part will be black, but before I paint it needs to flatten out.

I started work on some of the LED things I'm going to use, but before I post that I'm going to let the rest of that stuff arrive (waiting for some stuff from LSDiodes).

    Woah, that was fast.

Thanks man And yeah, this gutter guard is pretty good. I had some other stuff that was real flimsy and didn't hold shape at all, and this new stuff I bought works great.

on another note, once I post pics of mine we should soooo do like a fight to the death between The Dark Side and Project: Shark... they are like total opposites (think battle bots + red vs blue)

also I know you said you was gonna keep the lighting to a minimum but I saw sumn that fits the case perfectly (you have probably already seen them but I'm showing you anyway....) these
