    From gizmodo

FROM LIFEHACKER.COM: You've just reinstalled Windows from scratch—again—but this time you want to preserve your sparkling clean setup for instant restoration down the road. Instead of dropping cash on Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image, burn yourself a free, bootable Linux-based System Rescue CD. more »
This, might, be... very, very useful.

If you need Linux but don't want to install it, use Knoppix. It works as a System Rescue CD as well!

It works as a system rescue CD as well, but System Rescue CD has a few nice tools that Knoppix doesn't. And it's a smaller download .
